As far as I know, these are the characters you will be able to use in the new game.

Sonic
Shadow
Silver
Knuckles
Tails

If you know of any other usable characters, post them here.

Don't know.
All I know is that the above are characters in the game but Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and Blaze will be characters you can play as in the game.

Don't forget Tails. You can play as him too. And no doubt Knuckles will be playable aswell...

Knuckles had been playable as far back as Sonic 3 (with the attachemnt of sonic and knuckles of course.)

So far there have ben no videos or pictues of Knuckles and Tails being in game characters.

They probably left this game to the characters that have powers or special skills and abilitys. I guess having over sized fists and the IQ of 300 are just not enough.

Wrong...I've seen images of Tails in the game, as well as blaze. As for Knuckles there's only official artwork right now
