Controls?

What do you think the controls should be for people who play with the wiimote?
List your theories and ideas:

I reckon the Nunchuck should be used, so:

Control Stick(Nunchuck)-Move,crawl,etc.
C button(Nunchuck)-Grab
Z ''(Nunchuck)-Sheild
A-Attack
B-Jump
- Button- Special moves
D pad- Quick smash attack (Works similar like the GameCube controlers C-stick)
+ Button- Super smash attack(If the effects aren't instant)
1 button-Pause

Seems a decent lay-out. Remember though, Brawl will be playable with the Gamecube controller, though I'm not sure if it's the only control system for it or not.

I wouldn't mind using my old cube controller, but the control sticks a bit loose.

Since there are supposedly "added bonuses" to using the wiimote, I would suggest that flipping the remote up makes you jump (like in monkey ball) Or even not using the nunchuck and doing all your moves by holding the 'mote like you do on NES games, and tilting the controller to do all the kool stuffs.

why would we type the exact controls?

We're just guessing :P

If we held the remote the NES way, here's how it might be controlled:

Tilting the controller like a steering wheel OR the D-pad: Move
Thrust controller forward OR (2): Attack
Move controller up OR ^ on the d-pad OR (1): jump
+: Pause
Move controller down: A downward smashing attack
Thrust controller torwards you: Grab a character
-, |B|, or shake the controller side to side: Super attack

I don't know if they are going to include any motion sensing, Masahiro Sakurai said that the motion sensory could get in the way of the game, but that dosen't rule out everything. Perhaps it will be used as a cursor for menus but I doubt it will be used for actual combat.

i heard somewhere that they werent ging to use too much of the wimotes motion sensibilities but they still might let you point at the option you want to do. That would be cool.

they said you would use the classic controler to play so........the buttuns on that controle are.......
