As most of us have seen final smashes dish out huge amounts of damage and allow you to "own" your opponent (or vice versa). But will the addition of these moves ruin the gameplay because they allow anyone no matter how skilled they are to win? Would it be better to turn them off? Or does anyone here have an idea suggesting how they could've been designed?

They don't guaranty an instance knock-out. They said in Link's final smash, that you could recover from it, and get back on the ground.

I don't think it ruins it. There is still skill involved, I'm sure its possible to still dodge certain Final Smashes. Plus how well a person uses their attack can set their skill apart from others.

it brings more element to the game but it will not ruin it. It may take skill and button spamming or remote shaking to have a stronger smash. U never know...

Ike's final samsh is a good example... hard to dodge but won't kill you.
i think his would really be fun to dodge. also that final smash items will be very rare

Final smashes seem ok, but the ssb games are fast paced and kind of hectic. it would suck to be interupted i the middle of a battle while the character who grabs the smash ball gets a cut-scene of them charging up their attack.

Which is why the Final Smashes probably won't involve cut-scenes.
