What control do you use?

I bought a wii retro controller, its the gamecube one, but doesnt have the brand on it. And its white.

I use the Gamecube Controler, because I am used to it.

mine is the same shape as game cube control

Not sure why any hardcore Brawl player would use anything OTHER than the GC controller.

Of course, I still use the two that came with my Gamecube ^^

Problem with the Wii Remote is that the buttons are in the most illogical places. The trigger is the B button? Make that the sheild or something. They've got one of two jump buttons above the left sheild button, and the other jump is up on the d pad.

The problems with most of these controls is that you have to take your finger off of one of the other buttons, thus not allowing you to use it until after you've pressed the other button.

EX
- Up D-pad jump removes your finger from the A button.
- C cutton jump removes your finger from the sheild button.
- The other things that the D pad do (like grabs) also remove your finger from the A button.
- The taunt buttons are so out of place that I literally would have to look down and fine it on my controller.

I know you can edit the buttons, but why bother? That will just confuse and complicate things even more xD

But john, what if we're already used to the Wii Controller and have completely forgotten how the Gamecube controller works? (Yes im stuck with the Wii controller + Nun chuck.)

Im too used to the Wiimote and nunchuck, so yeah xP i don't remember how to use the gamecube controller for Super Smash Bros. period. =D

yeah i',m sticking to the wii+ nunchuck combination.I tried the classic controller and I can easily say thats the worst

I use the Wii and Nunchuk combo.

I use the Wiimote and nuchuck, but can and occasionally still use the Gamecube controller. john, your problems are incredible nit picks.

- Don't use the d-pad jump then, use the C button jump.
- you have four fingers free on the nunchuck hand, have one finger on C and another finger on Z.
- If you're grabbing you're hardly attacking at the same time are you? If it bothers you that much use the A+B grab.
- Tanting is hardly an essential part of gameplay is it? It's not that hard to find with your finger. If you can't find it, don't bother wasting time trying to taunt.
- You complain about the button layout yet refuse to change it to be more suited for yourself? Your complaints have no backup whatsoever.

I just find it incredibly tough to coordinate normal gameplay into the Wii Remote.

I think it's because I've played Melee so much that the button pressing is just so natural and instinctive.

I dont no how you can sit there shaking your arms around with the combo of controls. I think its easier to sit down and make your hands on the one thing other then holding your arms out either side.
The guy at EB said that the wii clasic control is a disgusting shape and has no way of properly gripping it. Plus your hands will be touching basically which is uncomfortable.

But yeah i never used a control in the shape of GC untill i bought one for wii specialy for the purpose of getting brawl.


EDIT: by the way i think its pretty cool seeing everyones opinions, personally i thoguht no one did the combo. Yeah i agree you guys are strange, buy a GC or the WII GC retro controller(i have ^_^)

I use the Wiimote Nunchauk combo, although i have the tendency to wave it around to attack on occasion, thanks to constantly swapping between Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution and Super Smash bros Brawl..

classic controller is not too small unless you have some monster hands. No extra buttons either. It only has 1 z button of course, which is the noob's way to grab.

Which i do (Monster Hands i mean)

So the Classic Controller is useless to me
