Nintendo and sega are not together. Sega and Sammy are together. So Sonic in ssbr is about as rediculous as Sol Badguy, or worse yet, Bridgette, in Ssbr. Furthermore, just because a company makes games on a nintendo system does not mean it is nintendo. The perfect example is Square(which is now Squarenix), Square made final fantasies for the snes and nes, but was far from being part of nintendo.

sammy is a video game company much like sega, only not very well known outside of japan. They made the Guilty Gear series, which is a graphicly amaising fighting game that uses sprites so well I thought they were originaly cell shaded polygons. Sammy has now made a merger with sega(as well as numerous other small companies), and it is known as Sammy Sega(or Sega Sammy).

When Sega dropped out of the console market they started producing games for all three major consoles, not just Nintendo's. They are a third party company, which means they aren't directly connected to Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo in any way.
