You're confusing the wavedash with Samus' super wavedash. That's Samus' own technique and can't be used by other players.
Link can't super grapple like Samus can either.

i suppose they could, if the shielding player is on a platform, but not conventionally-cancelled missiles...some of the hitbox would certainly be below the shield, but it would hit the front of the shield first and splode.

... ok then... i didnt know link could super jump, and does the super wavedash happen to ALMOST look like samus teleport but shes actually running at a really really high speed, cuz i saw that too
