I can't say I don't doubt you but w/e samus' sh is the highest sh in the game and the only thing you would really need to learn to shffl is nair/bair anyways.

I can't seem to SWD completely perfectly... it seems that whenever I do it Samus only teleports a slight distance as opposed to a great distance across the field.

Too fast? Look this is what I did:
-I drop a Bomb
-I hold right on the analog stick
-As soon as I hit the ground, I hit left
-I teleport for about a foot or two

The reason is when you hit left, its hitting too hard and going a bit to the right and not exploiting the full length of the SWD

Mini SWD's are a product of NOT tilting the controls stick the full way. You have 1 frame to flick the control stick from one side to the other. A full flick represents a full SWD. During that one frame, if you can only partially move the control stick then you'll only partially SWD.
Hitting the control stick too hard and having it fly back the other way within the 1-frame time limit gives you a different result, that you could probably guess..
