I stole one thing from a shop in Imperial City, just one thing and now the cops won't even let me rest in an Inn. How do I get back on their good side without going to jail or paying them?(On the game,I'm pretty poor.)

Thanks to Ares2 for the sweet sig and avy.

Well there's no actual way to avoid them other than joining the theives guild. To get into the guild find a beggar in the city, get their disposition to 75, then ask about the Gray Fox. Do what they say and you'll have access to the guild, and be given the ability for them to get rid of your bounty if you pay half of it.

Ok thanks it's just that my bounty is over 13,000 and I can't find any money and if I just go into the city everyone starts chasing me so I don't think there's much chance that I'll find a peaceful beggar. Oh and also I resisted arrest so I killed one of the Legion Guards and took his stuff. That included his helmet, shield, sword, bow, arrow, greaves, the chest armor, boots, and key.

Yeah I would have to say so too. So you stole one thing and your bounty was what? 40? Something low like that? Killing a guard and resisting arrest will do that to you.And Vampire Toast, where were you, you haven't been here in a while?

Well, where is the Theives Guild and the Arena? I heard the Arena pays well and the Theives Guild cuts the bounty in half.

You'll have to talk to a beggar and ask about the Gray Fox with their disposition high. Usually beggars don't chase you, so if you can find one that isn't fleeing stop and talk to them and do what they say. And for the arena, go to the map screen and locate Imperial City Palace in the middle of the city. Move the pointer over to the right and you'll see Imperial City Arena.

Ok, I went there and MORE GUARDS! Sheesh, where aren't those dang guards!>:< Do you think this idea would work:Drop all the stolen stuff just outside the city then walk in and nobody chases you. Then, once business is taken care of, just go back to where you dropped the stuff and then just pick it up again.

No. . .once you have a bounty it stays even if you drop what you stole.

Oh crap. This isn't good. Well, what if I dropped my stuff at,like, Weynon Priory and then went to jail. Would the stuff still be there?(At Weynon Priory)And would my bounty be gone or at least lower?

Well, it was a Steel Warhammer I stole and I think my bounty was more than that. I think it was like 100.

Yes, they'd still be there after you're arrested and finish jail. But usually only if you just laid them on the ground. But you would still have to pick them back up in secret. The bounty will not get lower no matter what you do. Unless you pay or go to jail, what you have is what you have.

When you go to jail, your bounty will remain what is was when you were arrested until you serve your time. It will go up by 200 (I think) if you manage to escape. Escaping is not like the first time with the Emperor. If you had any lockpicks when you were arrested, you will be able to hide only one. So that gives you a chance to pick the lock on your cell, sneak past or kill the jailor, and escape. Although, I see no point in escaping because they'll chase you on sight again. But it is pretty fun to keep them guessing! Smile

yes that is true
Bethesda makes the best games ever. The Elder Scrolls games rock harder then any other game ever. I like Heavy Metal and Death Metal. My favorite band is DevilDriver.
