I need help with this quest! Dont know if i did something wrong or if its something wrong with the game itself.
Its about the quest "Where spirits have lease". I bougt the manor from Velwun Beninus and ive slept in the bed, killed the goasts. Went for Velwyn in Imperial city, brougt him back to the house and head down in to the basement. Found the sealed portal, Velwun says he will open it and now he stads there moving his hands around it but the portal stays closed. He has now been standing there for at least three days and nothing happens!!!???
What is wrong???

Have you spoken with him again? That is probably what you need to do.

I have spoken with him when he stand there at the portal. He says that he will open it but nothing happens.

Wow. It has been so long since I have done this quest so let me think for a while. Hmmmm. Have you walked up to the portal and presse(whatever the action button is), or you might have to walk out side for a moment. Hmmmm..... honestly I am not sure. Let me get back to on thursday when I actually have my guide book in hand. Better yet you could check the oblivion guide book on supercheats. It might take a while but you will get it done faster then if you waited until thursday for me.

This is a known bug. Here's a solution from uesp.net
Sometimes when you take Velwyn to the "Sealed Portal" in the basement, he just keeps waving his hands and never opens the door. Try opening the "Sealed Portal" or casting a Charm spell on him,. You can also just wait one hour, after which his behavior should be reset.
