yea i heard you couldnt do this,i dont know why,its a good idea.

i need help,im at the forest temple and cant find the key for the fourth monkey.

Forest Temple....

I've got 3 monkeys - going for my 4th. I've used the spider-bomb at the top of the stairs and killed the plant creature in the gap. I jump over the gap to the boulder sitting on the edge of a platform.

Using the same spider-bomb creature....I've run the to the gap- staying on the right as the "walkthrough" states ...I throw the bomb and it lands on the other side. It rolls a bit then explodes. The boulder is still intact.

I've tried to jump the gap with the bomb...but the game won't let me do it.

I've run to the gap with the bomb, thrown it over and jumped...but there isn't enought time to get the bomb up on the boulder's platform.

Is there a specific way to do this? A spot to stand in? Or perhaps I've missed something?

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks for the answer....but I don't have the gale boomerang.... I think I get it when I blow up the boulder I'm asking about...maybe?

To get the Gale Boomerang you need to enter the temple and go north until you reach an area outside, walk up to a bridge and a white baboon with the boomerang will destroy the bridge, after that go through the temple until you find 4 monkeys:

(for the forth you must hold the bomb spider creature until it glows red, then throw it, then it should explode in mid air taking out the boulder, timing is everything so it may take a few tries).

Return to the outside room, the monkeys will make a chain accross the broken bridge, enter to be faced with your first miniboss:

This guy hops about from post to post and will throw the boomerang at you, jump / backflip out of the way then roll into the pillar he's on (you might have to roll twice i can't remember) anyway he will then fall on the floor, slice and dice him until he gets up. Repeat the process until he dies - leaving you the Gale Boomerang.

Ok...sound like I might be able to do that...but I've still got to blow up the boulder on the platform. Ok...toss and in mid air it should blow up... looks like a long day! LoL!
