yes in sis 2 body shop you can make your own clothes but not items so far as i know...

If you want 2 make ur own clothes, use the Body Shop and a paint program. You make a file in Body Shop, and then open said file in paint program. do desired changes, save, and then refresh the file in body shop. Import it!!! I don't know about objects, but go to the tutorials on ModTheSims2.com. They should have tutorials about objects.
My ipod is awesome i listen to it it has green day panic! at the disco fall out boy simple plan and other kool stuff.
