I think all you have to do is make your sims interact to each other by clicking the option 'be nice' or etc that can create to the friend relationship. If its still not working,try to click the option 'be rude' until the 'divorce' option comes out. Then, you know what to do!

I have a current goal of becoming engaged, however i can not complete this because whenever i propose marriage it says i can only buy an eternity ring (15LP). I thought this may be because i had another couple who were married, so i got them divorced, but the promlem still persists. It's getting boring not being able to move on to a new goal. HELPPP.

I don't know if you already completed this goal or not. Go to the sims tracker. click the whistle on all the sims. you have to be in a house to do this. that's how you call a sim(:
