What does the "next" button mean?

I have two sims who were partners, but the girl cheated and now lives with her new love, but they never split up, dispite the fact the both have new partners, and tonight I hought I would make them break up, but when I click on opposite to make them be rude and complain it also gives me the option to click on the word "next". I tried it but it just took my toolbar away for a while. I'm wondering if it's just a glitch but I'm to worried to try �t again, any idea what this button does?X

i have the same problem. i also had my sims cheat on each other and when i have them interact with their new partner the next options pops up on the left and when i click on it i cant get it out of it. the option makes the menu bar dissapear and some kind of white parenthesis hovers over the screen... wierd.

Same I had a gay couple but now I want them to break up to make all my sims one family I hit next and now its frozen

I just rebooted my iPhone and when I started Sims Freeplay again it was back to normal.
