You can buy a car from the car dealer in town if that's built. Then you tap on the car parked out front of the house to drive. Another option is to skip the goal but that costs 5 lp. When you press on the goal in the lower left corner and it opens in middle, you press on the pulsating arrow and the option to skip the goal pops up.

It might be that the coffe pot doesn't have enough space around it for the sims to access it. Try moving it.
