My sims are already married, and now it says on my objectives to get engaged, none of my other sims have a close bond. Can anybody help?

I have 2 sims with a partner relationship. One of my goals is to get engaged, with a free ring. When I have them purpose, I can only get the most expensive ring which I can't afford, so I click on that ring and it says that I have to buy more life points. When the goal said that I get a free ring. HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!! Please

Im having the same problem you are. Ive done this with three couples now and all that changes is the last name. Ive been having this last couple be romantic for about a week now.
