I saw this yesterday.
Apparently it's because the melee weapons cause extreme dismemberment and gore. Oh the laffs that followed.  Credit to .Impact for the sig & avy |

When I saw this yesterday I just burst into laughter. Like wow, the Aussies really are getting screwed over this time. Their review bored is waaaay too strict.

According to wikipedia, Gears of War is not banned but L4D 2 is. L4D 2 must be gratuitous.

I still don't get why madworld or Gears isn't violent enough to get banned but L4D is. That just makes me want L4D even more.

I don't think there's any connection from L4D to L4D2. It's completely different characters and environments so you don't necessarily HAVE to play L4D to know anything about L4D2.
