Super Sonic
Activate the 'Level Select' code and use the sound test selection on the options screen to choose sounds 4, 1, 2, 6 (in that order). Start a stage, collect 50 rings, then jump to transform into Super Sonic.
Mega Sonic
Collect 50 rings and jump after becoming Hyper Sonic for even more speed and higher jumps.
Change Tails' Name to Miles
At the 'Title' screen press Up(3), Down(3), Up. If you have entered the code correctly you will hear a confirmation sound and Tails' name will be changed to 'Miles'. Note: The opposite will occur in the Japanese version of the game.

Unlockables and GamerScores
Unlock Level Select:
When you are 'Locked-On' to Sonic and Knuckles go to the 'Title' screen and press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. Then hold A and press Start to access the 'Level Select' menu.
Unlock Night Mode:
Access 'Level Select' and hold C when you select a stage and the level will become darker. When you die or beat the level the game will return to normal.

Successfully clear the Emerald Hill Zone 1.
All Multiplayer - GamerScore 5:
Play ALL 4 Multi-Player zones.

Get to the Casino Night Zone.
Chaos Emerald - GamerScore 10:
Get one Chaos Emerald.

You can get an unlimited amount of 'continues' in No Save mode by going to the 'Level Select' screen and entering the code 1,9,9,1,2,1,1,2,4 at the 'Music Test'. If you enter the code correctly you will hear a confirmation sound. |

First, start the game in No Save Mode. When the Sega jingle is heard and the Sega logo apears, tap letters S-E-G-A in that order. You should hear the chime of a ring in the game. When the title screen appears, tap the screen with two fingers. The level select and sound test should appear. Go to the Sound Test and play songs 1-9-9-2-1-1-2-4 in that order. You should again hear a ring sound. Then select a level and, when it starts, tap the upper left corner of the screen. Then Debug Mode should be activated. Tap the corner again to disable Debug Mode. |
