Plate Hunting!

Whats the fastest way to get a large amount of Rathalos and Rathian plates?

Just want to upgrade a cool looking Great sword and get other stuff

Get a longsword or boardsword, attack his/her tail, i know no faster way than that

and i'm not sure but i think you could get some by catching them


Oh yeah, there is faster way than simply do a killing spree: saves and cheats

does it increace your chances by fighting different colour and/or rank raths?

I doubt it. I would just get a LS and go crazy.

well said g33k, but i would prefer, go to the highest rank, non G, Rathalos and sushify (as Bush would say) its tail.
I just wouldnt make anything that takes time like that. The only armor i spent my time to harvest materials for was Los Sol mail(silver) as i love the skill set.
but yea, LS + los tail = 5-8% chance for plate.

18% chance of plate on Grank Ian and Los, just make sure to break all parts and capture. They give the highest probability. Elder quest los/ian is roughly 10% with all broken pieces and capturing.
