Even though it's early, lemme pop a few questions out:

1) Who takes the AL West if the Angels continue to struggle?

2) Cleveland being 4-9 at the time of this post, can they make a comeback or is it a one-way battle for first in the Central?

3) Any other teams that can compete with the Dodgers in the NL West? Padres seem to be relatively close, so I dunno.

1- Here is the thing here, the team that was supposed to finish last in first, and the Angels are only second. The Mariners will probably not win, and I think the Angels will. But the Athletics have a shot too. Still, I expect to see the Angels celebrating another division title, probably in early to mid September.

2- I have never been a believer in Cleveland. Everyone was praising them and Detroit last year, and what happened? Oh yeah, a Cleveland team that finished 81-81 WITH an unbelievable year from Cliff Lee, and a Detroit team with an offense that was going to score over 1,000 runs. Not buying into the Tribe.

3- In a word, no. San Diego can't sustain this pace, and the Dodgers should beat down all the other teams in this division with ease. Here is another question: If two NL West teams are playing each other, and one isn't the Dodgers, is it still considered to be a Major League Baseball game?

I freaking hate Youk.

That was the worst pitch and the worst time. He should've stayed up in the zone like he was throwing. You don't throw a fastball DOWN THE MIDDLE to Youk.

:|

EDIT:

... today really sucked. 16-11, after blowing a 6-0 lead? Jesus, where was A.J.'s stuff after the third? Beckett just flat out sucked and we still couldn't pick up the W.

Also, congratulations to Pujols on his 1000th career RBI, on his Grand Slam.

Marlins finally won after getting swept by Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and they are now 12-8 and are just a half game ahead of the Phillies.

Pirates have been doing pretty decent, maybe they can get a wild card or something.

I'm interested to see if the Blue Jays, White Sox, and Tigers can keep their first-place pace.

Roy Halladay has been on Fire for every time he has pitched.

And how can the White Sox And Tigers be in First place if they are in the same Pennant?

They're tied, so I'm wondering if they can keep up the pace for someone to take the divison (and who knows, maybe the fore-runners in the AL East can choke on the Wildcard?)

Keep in mind we ARE talking about the Pirates, 16 straight losing seasons.

All I got to say is.....Walk off hit by no other than Jorge Posada in the 9th with the bases loaded.

The Pirates are on a roll.....then in the next 60 games they will have a record of 10-30 in those forty games.

Today Tampa Bay Rays' Carl Crawford ties an MLB record only three others share, he stole six bases today in one game, against the Boston Red Sox none the less. I found this to be quite the impressive feat. Did anyone else see this?

Also Crawford was unaware that his six stolen bases tied an MLB record till the game was over. He told reporters. He also state had he of known he would have tried for more had he of known. This was a once in a life time chance to set a MLB record of his own. Or was it? Crawford definably has speed to his advantage. Anyone think he will be able to do it again?

Amen to that ED_ Amen to that. Crawford had a SICK game. He went 4 for 4 with 6 steals and 1.000 fielding percentage. Game He will remember before he one ups himself. Yet again.

I'm definitely looking forward to Yanks - Red Sox at the new stadium tonight. My mom got an offer to go tomorrow, she went to the Oakland series already...

Bleh, I hope this series is the Yanks, because then it'd bring us I believe... one game out of first (considering the Blue Jays lose both games) and .5 games behind Boston.

So yeah, interesting series coming up. Also, does anyone find it funny that Washington creeping up on the Mets, who were expected to be somewhat of a competitor in the NL East?

Carl Crawford....IS THE MAN!!!! That has to lower Boston Morale by a lot!

I'm not really focused on Baseball at the moment, more of Hockey and B-Ball.

No, not really. The Mets symbol is a guy choking.

I can't take this bullpen anymore. It's ridiculous.

However, Joba rocked. It's sad he had to get a loss for that performance, but the first inning says all.
