I saw some vague screenshots on Serebii and the Chikorita was following the player. Could it be that they brought the 'starter follow' back from Yellow? This would be great!

After seeing cyndaquil following Gold in Ecruteak, I don't doubt it. But I do fear one thing: it was still a cyndaquil. By ecruteak, shouldn't it have evolved? Does this mean our starters aren't going to evolve since they follow us?

It's hard to tell exactly what the truth is, due to so many possibilities. I'm guessing they have an option where you can get a Pok�mon to follow you. That'd probably be the coolest thing Game Freak has ever done in a Pok�mon game.

I doubt it will show emotions like the pikachu did in Yellow. I think that was a feature of the past. But it will be a interesting detail to the games if they use it right. But if they do it wrong, it might just be annoying.

^ I think the whole thing with being able to check on Pikachu's emotion and happiness in Yellow was pretty much only a display of the Gameboy's capabilities.

Well if you look at the screenshot of Azalea Forest or whatever it's called the starter is not following the guy. But you do notice that what I believe to be his Pichu is out, but that also just might be because it comes out when you interact with the other notch-eared Pichu

Well in pokemon platinum Nintendo introduced the sinnoh starters following you around in amity square. My Infernape follows me in amity square so I wouldn't worry about it to much.

I always wondered how they managed to change the Pok�mon allowed admission into Amity Square from cute to starters and got away with it. - -' Anyway, maybe the first Pok�mon in your party follows you? I don't know, but it's either that or you can choose what Pok�mon you want to follow you, if any.

It might just be me, but that actually sounds kind of cool =/
Or maybe it would be cool if you can't evolve them until you reach a certain part of the game, eg, after you talk to the Daycare people for the first time, or after your second Gym battle, or something like that.

If the first pokemon in your party was the one that followed you around that would be pretty awesome. I doubt it though, its probably a limited feature.

Maybe it's just for certain parts of the game, like a side-task which involves your Pok�mon to follow you...? If that were the case, Serebii should've explained that better...
