Well, that is quite a bit. The important thing is if the program is worth that much money. I think GIMP'll work almost as well for most things, and it's free, but Photoshop has many unique features. But hey, you could probably buy it if you had a job with a decent salary without any saving at all (but you probably couldn't buy anything else luxurious until the next paycheck). Doesn't seem like that much, really.

Not only is photoshop overpriced, it also slows down my computer to completly unusable! :D

I didn't pay for mine, but heh, I'm not a professional, just use it as a hobby.
Unless you're planning to use it for commercial uses, there's no need to pay that much for a program. There are quite a few FREE programs with basically the same options, such as GIMP.
