You know how in Gen II heaps of places were either sealed off, unincluded, or made much smaller?

Eg, Seafoam Islands, Cinnabar Island, Unknown Dungeon etc...

This was more than likely because they couldn't add everything into the limited programming space in a GBC cartridge.

Well, what if they utilised the newfound space in the DS cartidges, and added these areas yet again?

This would be a really good idea, I like it and really hope they do add to it. I really hope they expand the safari zone maybe add some more than just Kanto and Hoenn.

I know gold and silver were sweet, but like you said they had a lot of closed off places, will there also be Pokemon form games after Gold/Silver?

No, I think he/she means, will Pokemon from after Gen II feature in the remakes?

Also, where's the source saying there'll be a Gen V?

Maybe they can include Sevii islands, and add Hoenn and Sinnoh pokemon.

Wow, I wonder what that'll be like.
Have you noticed that there's a pattern of development in every generation?
1st: Retro.
2nd: Retro with color.
3rd: More enhanced--I can't think of the right word right now.
4th: One word: pixels.

Generation 4's gonna be pretty hard to top.

In Kanto, they also need to make Kanto as big as it's supposed to be. I'm not sure if any of you noticed, but most of the routes, cities and locations in Kanto were 'shrunk' so they could fit everywhere in. You could walk around Kanto in a matter of minutes. This time, it needs to be as big as it should be.

That and what everyone else has said - e.g. able to access previously sealed off places.

To put it in simpler form:

In Gen I (originals and remakes) Kanto was a certain size. However, due to the lack of space in GBC cartriges, they had to 'shrink' Kanto in G/S/C. What I mean is that towns in Kanto had less buildings, the routes had less trees etc. Also, anywhere on the map in Kanto, the area would look zoomed out in comparison to the same area in R/B/Y/FR/LG, but anything appearing on the map (people, trees etc) would be exactly the same size in both games.

I'll try and put it in diagram form if you still don't understand:

Route 12 (example only) in R/B/Y/FR/LG:

________________________________
----A----------------C----------
----------------B---------------
________________________________

Route 12 in G/S/C:

___________________
--A------------C---
_______B____________

Just imagine that Route 12 is just what I posted above, a straight road from one city to the next. Now imagine that points A, B and C on the diagram are trainers waiting to battle you. Their sprites would be exactly the same size in both versions of the game, but in G/S/C the route would look smaller, meaning there are less steps between the trainers. Imagine each dash I put in as one step (I had to put them in anyway because this site is useless at interpretating long spaces).

Did I clear it up for you?

Yeah, you did; thank you.
Did you remember that ever since it came out? Or did you just do some researching?

Nope. Remembered it myself. Although I still have a working version of Crystal, so I can still play the game.

I hope they don't add Sinnoh Pokemon. Maybe some Hoenn Pokemon would be okay, but I wouldn't really like that, either.

Though, I hope they do add the 'full version' of Kanto into these games.

They probably will include Sinnoh Pokmon; if they included Hoenn Pokmon in the Kanto region, they'll rape the Johto region as well. But yeah, just the first 251 Pokmon would be a real nice change. Nice and easy to fill the Pokdex, as well.

They actually were going to add a Safari Zone in G/S/C, but I guess they ran out of room or something. There still is leftover data from it, and an unused portal. You can explore the unfinished Safari Zone if you used a gameshark.
I do hope they add the Seafoam Islands, I had so much fun exploring them in Blue, lol.

I had a GameShark back then, but I never went into the Safari Zone. How could you get into it?

Hoenn pokemon weren't in FR/LG, So I doubt Sinnoh pokemon will. On the other hand, I do think that we'll see Hoenn pokemon in HG/SS, since Johto pokemon were in FR/LG.

I hope they expand on cinnabar's volcano. It'd be awesome. And the seafoam islands are useless. You can catch Articuno in Platinum, so I think it'll stay shrunk.
