Surely you've come across a few songs that are just impossible to understand without lyrics. Take Galneryus's song "Whisper in the Red Sky" as a prime example.
When the night meets the day, I will watchin' the red sky Hear the whisper of wind Take a power that never end
History tells a lie We don't believe the Darkest Age Change the time of the gloom We just fight for the freedom
From the past I'm hearing There is a voice that's calling me Just feel the fire it's never end On through the night, we are striding on and on
Hear voices in the heat Spreading your wings and fly away I just feel the power of the steel So I'll never die In the heat Spreading your wings and fly away I just feel the power of the steel So I'll never die
No one can stop the force The assault must go on and on Change the world with the power of steel We are alive
From the past I'm hearing There is a voice that's calling me Just feel the fire, its never end On through the night, we are striding on and on
Hear voices in the heat Spreading your wings and fly away I just feel the power of the steel So I'll never die In the heat Spreading your wings and fly away I just feel the power of the steel So I'll never die
Oh god, two words. Melt. Banana. The lyrics there often don't even make much sense once you can make them out. Good stuff though.
Scant chafe Shut out Split bolt
Like a sweeper he swims Like a paper he acts Like a filter he falters It's not surprising Like a primer he talks Like a mizer he smiles Like a dipper he is dipped Clip his cheap head
It's too late His nose has cracked Like a split bolt Strike like spike
Like a slipper he walks Like a flapper he slaps Like a pepper, "Do you need some salt?" Keep your temper Like a creeper he sleeps Like a corner he sits Like a locker he stands overthere It is natural
It's too late His nose has cracked Like unfit pet Closed grave

System of a Down have some of my favourite lyrics, often when i had first heard some of their tracks i had to go find the lyrics just to be sure i had heard them right oneo f the most random has to be Vicinity of Obscenity
on a side note for anyone who might be interested although Serj has confirmed they wont be back this year he never said anything about next year, fingers crossed
That's one of the strangest generalisations I've heard. I wouldn't say it has much truth behind it either... There are awesome bands whose lyrics are totally incomprehensible, yes, but there's also awesome bands whose lyrics can be fully understood without any difficulty at all.

That quote shouldn't be taken seriously, I don't mean that literally, just that I tend to like bands that growl their songs, but I totally agree that there are awesome bands with comprehensible lyrics
Really? You should've mentioned something - I'd have happily provided the name of the band, the link to that video or album names, whichever you wanted. Melt-Banana are pretty well known for a noise-rock band, but I doubt you know anyone else who's into it at all. Haha.

Melt-Banana are really difficult to classify though, haha. It's punk-influenced noise-rock, but some people are arguing that some of their more recent output bears a resemblance to extremely quirky indie pop.
Gotta love them though. They're such a unique band and their music has real feeling behind it. Agata's riffs are inspired by the moment of euphoria he gets after accomplishing something in a video game, apparently. Either way, the guitar work's amazingly different to any other band I've heard, and the bass takes on a different dimension because of that. Yasuko's vocals are... strange, but they somehow fit in perfectly with the music. Drums are... well, usually quite simple, but energetic nonetheless, which is what their music calls for.
Wow. I can write quite a lot about a band I like without even really trying. Haha.
