What I don't get is how come whites are the only race that gets the middle finger for racism, weather it be blacks, Asians, Mexicans or whatever. If a black guy calls me a cracker, and I get mad and call him a "n-word", I'm the one that gets the heat because I'm racist. No. Punish me if you must, but that guy is being racist too. It's stupid, that's what it is, we enslaved African-Americans over 200 years ago, it's not like I owned your grandparents, man. Hell, my family was still in Italy at the time.

We get a lot of racism here in New Zealand, although nowhere near the extent of whats been seen in America..
Its an issue that I don't ever see going away, but I agree with some people that have said if a black american (or even a Maori here in New Zealand) can call 'whities' (as I think volke said) any negative, degrogatory word & they can generally get away with it.. Reverse the role & say 1 word, even a minor word, its automatically a hate crime.
A well known New Zealand presenter had to make a public apology for saying the term 'Cheeky Darky' on t.v - He is white.
Another well known presenter called a white person he was interviewing a 'pathetic white honky' on live t.v - no apology, no complaints that were made were held up - because he was a Maori & it seemed like the Broadcast Complaints Authority didn't want to make a deal out of it in case they were ridiculed & blamed for racism...

Yeah but the Jewish had it worse than the Blacks. So slavery isn't/wan't the reason for the n word hate. It was during the Civil Rights Movement really.

Used to be: maxxy209, yeah yeah I know, I hated me too.
It's really just dependent on your relationship with the particular person. If I got up to a black person I don't know, and say "What up, my *****?", he would probably be offended. Disrespectful. But if I said it to one of my black friends, they wouldn't care, because we're friends.
It just gets annoying when people cry only for word choice, rather then the usage of those words.
I'm white. I live in an area that most associate with Maori (brown skinned race - the black americans of New Zealand if you will) & I have had a lot of maori friends. I was even once dubbed by a good friend as an Honourary Black man (mainly because of where I live lol) & none of them minded if I used the N word or any of the other words some might find offensive.
They did get offended if strangers directed those words towards them though lol
