The United States Congress has passed a bill to unify healthcare. What do you think about this?

I'll have a lot of fun listening to the guys on FOX complain their heads off tomorrow.
I was against the bill, but my opposition to it is definitely outweighed by my lack of respect for Rush Limbaugh.

Does this help...

Think of congress like this:
Pro is the opposite of Con, therefore
Progress is the opposite of Congress

A study published in August 2008 in the journal Health Affairs found that covering all of the uninsured within the existing private-based U.S. health care system would increase national spending on health care by $122.6 billion, which would represent a 5 increase in health care spending and 0.8 of GDP.

Many argue that we can have this plan without paying more, I tend to agree with the study above. I know this post isn't politically correct, and I understand that there is some out there that are not getting the health care they deserve, however the over whelming majority are just lazy people, that will never amount to anything.

For the benefit of the foreigners among us, does America have Government-funded healthcare for everyone yet?

No, that's what this bill is for.

All I've learned is how greedy conservatives are from this. It seems their stand point is, "I worked for my money, and I'm
spending it on myself, dammit!".

It's a little hypocritical to the party that's mostly ruled by Christians. Not very Christ-like if you ask me.

The money a person makes deserves to be spent on whatever they would like to spend it on, because they made that money. I admire and respect those that give to charity or any other group, however they should not be made to do this. They made the money, they shouldn't have to pay for lazy people who live off the government.

You're statement is a very ignorant statement in my opinion, Jesus Christ never made people tithe, it is indeed a commandment in the Bible to tithe 10 percent of what you make and I believe every christian should tithe, however he gave us a free will.

Also in relation to your opinion of it being hypocritical, rather then me just give a opinion for that statement I'll let this verse in the Bible speak for itself.

"Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son. -"Proverbs 10:4-5

Notice how the Bible doesn't say to let the man who gathered crop's give some to the lazy man who didn't. Yeah, I think that pretty much destroyed your point. God doesn't just frown upon laziness, he hate's it. Go read all the versus in proverbs chapter 10 and you will see this.

I wasn't going to bring the Bible into this discussion since many people on this forum are not christian's and really wouldn't care about what the Bible said, but would rather here debate concerning why we should or shouldn't have this health care plan. However this post really erked me as a christian.

So because there are 2 percent of people out there that this happens to we should revolve a whole health care plan around them? This is a very bad argument, there is always going to be that "one person" who gets gyped, to base a whole plan around 2 percent of people who get gyped, and 98 percent of people who are lazy, bringing up the 2 percent to approve the plan is simply put, a stupid thing to do in my opinion.

I don't want to get too involved in this because some of the posts in here are... well, ignorant. To start off, I don't believe in paying for the person who won't or can't pay for himself. Is that, how did you call it, "greedy"?

The basic mechanics of this healthcare bill is to increase taxes on all tax payers to pay for the costs of this bill. The costs of this bill is to pay for the health care of all those who don't have it. Therefore, it's exactly what President Obama is denying it to be - socialism: spreading the wealth.

I do agree that someone shouldn't be denied health care if they don't have insurance. However, does this mean that people who do have health care should pay for theirs?

And do you think people in the government pay taxes? No, why would they want to want to cut into their precious $400,000+ paycheck, which is earned from imposing taxes upon someone who makes much less than that?

If you want to call Conservatives and all against the bill hypocritical, think again.

I agree with this post 100 percent, this is exactly what I was trying to say. While I feel sorry for those who have fallen through the crack's of the system, putting in place a health care plan that encourages laziness is a bad solution.

I was referring to lazy people getting what they deserve. However reading it back made me think, what I failed to consider was that people that grew up in a bad home or environment could be offended by what I just posted, and rightfully so. So I apologize for that part of my post and will edit. Sometimes debate make's me go to far to prove a point. While I stand by the fact that people who are lazy don't deserve to own a lot, there are people out there who were not blessed as much as I have been growing up, so again I'm sorry, that part of my post was not meant for people like that. I ment it only towards people who are lazy and live off of other's money.

Is it just me or has a Super Moderator once again made an utterly useless and this time off topic post? Deleted, I'm not one to be strict but Town you seriously need to evaluate the quality of your posts before others do it for you.

I'm not going to comment on this controversial topic myself, mainly here just for that. ^ Do try to keep things nice thought guys, I'm already seeing some mudslinging.

Alright, so here's the deal, short.

My friend wants to go to med school. Now, that's not going to happen with the 33 percent income tax put on all revenue made by doctors. Many doctors will lost their jobs. Many college grads will not get jobs, and the quality of medical services will DRAMATICALLY drop.

Also, Amo made me laugh xD
