Teams Suggestion

Just an idea I came up with while looking at T&C. Is there any way a log could be put in for the team chief showing who joined, and when? Same with people leaving the team. If they left on their own, or if they were removed. If removed, by who.

Reason I ask this is because, currently, the only way to tell who's joining your team is setting apps to manual or memorizing the member's list. That can get a bit hard when the lists get long. Would just help chiefs who like their team to be open to everyone keep track of the members. Personally, I could really use this on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Story. I want that team to be open to everyone, and it's getting hard to keep track of people. .-.

I like how every person who just posted in this thread is a burrow. Someone has been selling their idea in T&C.

I can't say a yes or no on it quite yet myself. Explain to me why it would be useful; really. I mean, why do you need to know if one new random person joined your team, or someone left your team? That's just not important from what I can think of. If they start posting you know they are there, and who actually leaves teams on T&C without making a drama episode about it first just to make sure they get attention?

I just don't see any practicality behind it, when you way in the work needed to make this a reality.

Wow, people from T&C only get to post here to support F_S. Being a T&C regular, I will agree with qwerty. It would be quite pointless to have such log when people do join. They don't need to be tracked but I understand F_S cause he has lots of members and he wants to keep track of it. However, not even half participate in the RP and well, is totally pointless.

I don't quite understand why anyone actually needs to monitor who leaves/joins. Is the information important to the day to day function of the team? Hardly. Is it important for any reason at all? None that I, or it seems Qwert, can see.

Sounds like the exact reason there's an easily viewable members list. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I see that being the only reason why its displayed the way it is.

Here's you a list of the Members there Sphynxx. When someone new joins, I'll be sure to come to you and ask you to sift through all those names, finding the new one there. :D

Pure curiosity, I guess. Team is your little hiding hole in T&C; Would just be nice to know who's coming into your hole. Guess it's the same reason Rich put up the "Newest Member" thing for the forums. It was actually Daisy's comment that made me make this thread.

Problem there was actually checking the list to see who's joined. Needed Justin in there to explain to her why SC GF/BF crap was bad. xD

I did say something to Gabby last night in T&C about a possible use for a log.

A little hard to understand if you're not actually in T&C. Might never even happen. Still, information like that is nice to clear up problems, ya know? :D

If someone really wants to know who's joining, just use the manual option. You can't tell me it's that difficult clicking "Accept" over a name or two a day. At this point most people have joined the big teams, and there will be no new ones until the old ones die, so chances are you'll be clicking accept about twice a month. There's really no need for your log when you factor that in.

As for the T&C mod thing. You should have more faith in them than that. They're chosen by us because they won't abuse their powers. In the extremely unlikely event that the powers are abused, other T&C mods/members/smods would quickly pick up on it even without this log. They'd be banned, people re-join, that's the end of it. At this point you're trying to center an entire idea which would require a fair amount of work, around monitoring those who do the monitoring; and already get monitored by the entire site.

So with that, I can safely say a no.

For those of you who don't know, that's the biggest team in T&C. Bah, knew it would be hard to explain to someone who doesn't actually go to T&C. xD

Most of the people who actually go to T&C are saying yes. If a few more come in, I'll ask Rich if it's practical or not.

I kinda like the idea. Theres been time when people have join and left my team and I never knew who they were. It would really be nice to be able to keep track of the members.

As an old burrow myself I dont really see much of a need for it. Most people who leave your team dont even bother removing themselves from the team and youre not seriously going to remove inactive users or every team would go from 100 members to like 4 in 10minutes. I have members in my teams that havent been a member of supercheats in like 2 years!

I used to keep track of my members and tried motivating people to post and not leave but its tough to keep up with and by having this implemented everytime you have a member leave it will leave you asking WHY?! WHAT HAVE I DONE?! Over dramatic..yes I know.
