AI = Actual Intelligence?

Basically, it's like Google except you start a conversation, I usually start with "Hello." You can say anything and everything and Cleverbot will respond with a response to your post.

So I'm sure someone's made this topic before but probably not about Cleverbot. Cleverbot is supposedly A.I. that can actually "hold a conversation with you". I've experimented with this thought on Cleverbot to see if this claim was true and came to the following conclusion in the Spoiler below. DO NOT LOOK AT THE SPOILER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS.

So, what "interesting" conversations did you have with Cleverbot? Your dialogue can be marked as the following:

C (for Cleverbot): What Cleverbot says.
U (for user): What you say.

So far, I haven't had the chance to copy and paste my conversations for lack of this very topic but one of my conversations was debating whether Cheeto's or Oreo's were the better snack food (Cheeto's all the way).

Last time I checked Clever bot actually was an AI... just a poorly made one that is designed to learn from what you say... And it kinda does, did you ever think of testing that?

I mean I suppose you could be right, but I just doubt it.

EDIT: Actually I just used it again, first time in like forever... and you might be right.

It seems like it has 100 different personalities and it hints around sometimes that its another person

but it could also be designed to say different things so that it doesn't get repetitive.

I doubt they could put that on their main site and use humans anyways.

Hahahaha. Cleverbot's designed to learn from its users, but a large number of those have been /b/tards. And of course the usual assortment of odd people who can be found on the Internet~

You can tell its an AI by the way it types, do you think everyone is typing correctly all the time? this is the interwebz so of course not!

Exactly my point about the user-switching idea.

No person would type perfectly and consistently at that speed, they would make mistakes and their rate of typing would be different across their post, it's definitely a program that just spits out everything other people say when it is activated by key words in what you tell it, I highly doubt its other people.

Don't believe it's an AI? Switch to another language. It's rubbish in anything other than English but it does have some experience from speakers of other languages, so it will at least switch - whereas a real person would probably be confused by you switching between three or four languages for no apparent reason.
