Name: Fan "Night Wave"
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Age: 22
Height: 5'8
Weight: 115 lbs.
Appearance: Fan has long black hair, reaching about an inch past her shoulders. Her eyes are black as coal, although some claim seeing them turn red once in a while, like a spark struck the coal. Fan wears a red long-sleeved shirt swirled with orange, and over it a short sleeved black jacket, held partially open (about four inches from edge to edge) with a leather strap holding the sides of the jacket together. Her pants were dark blue, and made out of a material that she didn't know. All she knew was that they were made out of a strong, light, flexible material, and that was all that mattered. She also wore light flexible black shoes that allowed for quick footwork easily.
Weapons: Fan primarily fights with a brother and sister sword combination. Kimaru, the brother, is a saw blade that has about a dozen large rippers facing the hilt of the sword. The inside of the ripper is dull, allowing it to easily catch and opponent and adding ripping power, and the outside is sharp, allowing for quick stabs and to escape parry's more easily. Naria, the sister, is Fan's favorite of the two. It's a single-edged dagger with a knuckle guard. On command, the blade will release, revealing a chain extending from the hilt to the blade, making a sort of chain-blade-whip. This is a very flexible weapon, which can be used to shield the user from smaller projectiles, strike the opponent from a range, entangle them, strangle them, disarm them, and many other uses. She can also launch the blade from the hilt at great speeds like a gun. She likes to use this for trick attacks. In addition to the stated weapons, Fan keeps six throwing knives and a dagger hidden on the inside of her jacket just below the back of the collar, which she uses for quick surprise attacks. She also keeps a knife on her right ankle. In addition, Fan is quite competent as a hand-to-hand fighter.
Abilities: Fan's greatest asset is her speed and stamina. She can run faster than a cheetah nearly indefinitely thanks to Flame's intense training. She can also push her speed to break the sound barrier, which makes her virtually untraceable, although this tires Fan out much more quickly. Fan is also in possession of a darkness ability, which she can channel into attack and weapons. When shot from her bare hand, the attack can burn as if fire, and has a strong impact. If concentrated, it can be formed into an attack Fan calls "True Night". This attack will literally eat through anything and anyone it touches, leaving nothing left. The downside is that it takes time to charge. Several minutes, although Fan can move while charging it. The dark energy can also be charged into Kimaru and Naria. When charged into Kimaru, it can give the sword the ability to slice through anything like it was made of butter, draining Fan's energy quickly, or into Naria, where it can be used as a spread-shot long ranged attack, or as a heavy impact close attack.
Fan is also very good at hand-to-hand combat. With her amazing speed and reflexes, she can catch almost any opponent off guard and hit them dozens of times in a matter of seconds. She isn't particularly strong, but makes up for it with the sheer volume of hits she puts in.
Personality: Fan is snarky and arrogant. She believes herself to be the greatest assassin who ever lived, and the most loyal follower of Lord Flame. Loyal to death to her lord, she will carry out an assassination he sends her to do without question and complete it with incredible efficiency. Fan is also quite intelligent, although she doesn't show it much. To her enemies, she often taunts those she views worth her time, and simply cuts down everyone else, being quite picky on who is worth fighting. Recently, however, she has been acting very skittish and distant, with something on her mind which could either strength her resolve even more, or change her forever.
Bio: Quickly abandoned by her mother and father in life, Fan grew up most of her life alone in a town called Whispering Gale with her best friend Sky. Fan lived in an abandoned house alone and stole food, which is how she passed her days. One day, however, an evil presence came to Whispering Gale, chasing Sky and Fan down. When it came down to it, Sky abandoned Fan, and Fan was consumed with the darkness, leaving her with her dark powers and another presence within her, which has stayed dormant for a long time.
For a while, Fan had no control over her powers. She would destroy any town she got close to without even realizing what she was doing and get run out of town. She eventually met Flame. The lord of the land, he saw potential in Fan and began to train her. Putting her through training too gruesome and cruel to describe, Fan became a perfect killing tool. One of a silence and shadow, and one of swords and blood. Efficient and powerful, she became the perfect tool for Flame to use. Until one day.
Finally, she was getting her chance. Flame was sending her to kill Sky, who had finally been identified. That's when everything was turned around. After the first attempt failed due to a lucky break by Sky, she was revived by an old seer named Briggs. With the help of her friend Blade and a new teammate named Devin, she had actually managed to defeat Fan when she returned. But not on her own. Fan was trying to make her suffer, tear apart any memory she held dear, but some spirit that was lying dormant within Sky woke and defeated Fan, nearly killing her. When Sky came to, however, she saved Fan. Fan eventually left without completing her mission, greatly angering Flame. She headed north, trying to avoid Flame's soldiers, trying to figure out what had happened, and how her world had been turned around so much in so little of a time. That's when she got a letter and found the perfect place to hide until she had everything figure out.
Name: "Jaganshi" Hiei
Race: Demon
Sex: Male
Age: Unknown. Some claim Hiei is close to 250 years old, although he appears to be about 15. Being a Demon, it's almost impossible to guess his real age from appearance, and Hiei has never admitted how old he is.
Height: 4'10 (Without his hair)
Weight: 110 lbs.
Appearance:
Hiei wearing his cloak. Hiei without his cloak. The Jagan Eye The Darkness Flame Tattoo + Dragon of the Darkness Flame Weapons: Hiei primarily fights with single edge katana-like sword. He was trained to use this weapon by Shigure, the Demon Surgeon, and is quite proficient with it. He sometimes fights with his fists, although he prefers not to because he isn't very good with them in comparison to his sword skill.
Abilities: At a glance, Hiei's two most notable skills are his sword, which, as stated before, he is a master with (Allowing him to throw or stab the blade with pinpoint accuracy), and his speed. Hiei also possesses powers of an S-Class Demon, the best of the best. Hiei's speed is second to none where he is from, and he often seemed to be teleporting depending on how fast he moves. Also, being the son of a fire demon and an ice apparition, Hiei has an unusual resistance to heat and cold. Most lesser ice and fire attacks don't even register to Hiei, and even powerful ones have reduced effects. Hiei is in possession of the Jagan eye, although not a natural one, Implanted by the Demon Surgeon Shigure. This eye grants Hiei many psychic abilities including Telepathy, Telekinesis, Long-Distance Sight through some objects (As Hiei puts it, there is nothing that the Jagan doesn't see), and the ability to erase memories. The Jagan even possesses the ability to control weak-minded humans and demons. It should also be noted that the eye seems to bridge Hiei's flame abilities when it is open (It is commonly kept closed behind a white headband):
Fist of the Mortal Flame - This technique allows Hiei to use the power of the flame from the mortal world, harnessing it into his fist for a devastating punch. The punch can also be paired with his other hand for double the devastation. Hiei has also demonstrated the ability to shoot the attack at a range for a flamethrower-like effect.
Dragon of the Darkness Flame - Hiei's most devastating attack. Using this attack, Hiei summons forth a Dragon from the pits of Demon World, sending it at his opponent to annihilate them. This attack has been known to reduce fire-users to ashes and rip apart anything in its way. Hardly anything can stand up to the might of the Dragon. Hiei used to need to use his Demon Energy as a lure to bring the Dragon from the pits of Demon world, but in a fight against the demon Bui, Hiei absorbed the dragon into himself (It taking form as a black tattoo) and can now release it from himself with even more power by reinforcing it with his own Demon Energy (As Hiei put it, "I am the dragon"). After using the Darkness Flame technique, Hiei normally has to sleep for a while, having used so much energy.
Sword of the Darkness Flame - A less potent version of the full flame technique, this version uses Hiei's sword as a channel for the sword, creating a weapon that can slice through just about anything. Hiei has also demonstrated that he can create a darkness flame sword without using his own as a channel. Despite being devastating, Hiei dislikes using this move. He finds it devoid of any taste or artistry (comparing it to Kuwabara's Spirit Sword) and also cowardly to contain something as powerful as the Dragon in a form like a sword. Even so, he uses it as a filler move for those he sees unworthy of facing the full brunt of the technique.
Personality: Hiei often stays alone, and comes off as aloof and elusive, having quite a cynical view on the human world, mocking emotions humans feel, especially those of friendship and love. He also seems to be indifferent with allies he has, often mocking or bickering with them. Despite that, he respects people who deserve it deep down.
Bio: Hiei was born a monster, a boy of fire in an Ice Apperation village of all women. His mother, Hina, also gave birth to a girl named Yukina, who was allowed to stay, however Hiei was not. He was banished from the village, thought to die. Hiei actually survived and began to run with a group of demon bandits, the only token from his mother a necklace with a precious gem made from the crystalized tear his mother shed while giving birth to him. Eventually, the bandits shunned Hiei too, in fear of his power. One day he became careless, having been showing the rare necklace off to attract strong enemies. It worked, and one opponent slice the precious stone from Hiei's neck and below into a river before Hiei finished him off. Despite his searches, Hiei was unable to find it, finally realizing what it meant to him.
His searches brought him to the Demon Surgeon Shigure, who agreed to implant Hiei with the Jagan Eye to help him find his Mother's Stone and his homeland, where he sought his revenge. The operation took its toll, reducing Hiei's abilities form a Class-A Demon to a lowly Class-D. In addition, being one who appreciated irony, after hearing Hiei's story, he decided the price of the surgery would be that he would never be able to tell Yukina that he was her brother, to which Hiei replied "I never intended to anyways." While his eye couldn't find his stone, he found his home village easily enough, soon seeing it for the dead village it always was, deciding to spare it. He soon learned that his mother had committed suicide some time ago.
Soon after, Hiei met up with Kurama and Goki to steal the Spirit World artifacts, which he planned to use to make himself more powerful in the coming years. This backfired, however, when the Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi defeated all three, even killing Goki. Afterwards, Hiei found himself in service to Spirit World, still serving the time for his crime. He ended up teaming up with Yusuke, Kurama, and a human named Kuwabara to stop the Four Saint Beasts, win the Dark Tournament (Defeating the Demon Toguro in the process), and defeat the last Spirit Detective, Shinobu Sensui, and stop his plan to open the portal from Human World to Demon World.
After all these trials, Hiei finally left to Human World to serve under Mukuro, one of the Three Kings of demon world. It was here he fought and defeated Shigure, who refunded his original price, allowing Hiei to tell his sister of their relations if he wished (Although to this day he hasn't). It was also revealed here that Mukuro had Hiei's stone, which she returned to him. Ready to move on the other king, Yomi, after the third, Rizen, died, they were all shocked when Yusuke Urameshi suggested that they all break up the armies and fight in a tournament to decide who ruled sprit world, which everyone agreed to.
Hiei fought in the tournament, losing in the third round to Mukuro, but releasing her from the chains of her past in the process. The ruler of Demon world, Enki, as decided by the tournament, then made deals with Spirit World to allow Demons to roam free in human world without interference with humans.
Hiei was stuck on patrol duty, making sure no Humans wandered into Demon World, and those who did were returned safely. He was so bored that he had actually tried to pick a fight with Mukuro for some fun. Until a letter appeared, telling him of an interesting proposition for a tournament. And Hiei had never been one to turn down a challenge.
Name: Magni [NO LAST NAME PROVIDED]
Race: Human/Machine Space Marine
Sex: Male
Age: 70
Height: 7'0 (With Armor)
Weight: 1,600 lbs (With Armor and Servo-Arm)
Appearance:
Magni Weapons:
Storm Bolter - A powerful weapon designed to shoot "Bolt" rounds. These rounds are explosive, designed to detonate upon hitting their target and are quite deadly. This weapon in particular fires with two barrels, making it much easier for Magni to hit his target. The gun is designed to be held be a space marine, and would be almost impossible for a normal human to handle well, let alone fire. Magni, on the other hand, can fire it one handed. The downside is that it doesn't have a particularly large clip and takes upwards of 15 seconds to reload.
Dark Angles Ceremonial Sword - A large sword that would be a two-handed weapon for most people is held in one hand by a space marine. This sword is often used in the Dark Angle chapters for special ceremonies and such, but is a powerful sword and can be used in combat. Other than its size, there's nothing else remarkable about it.
Lascannon - This shoulder-fired heavy weapon is designed for felling tanks. It shoots out a highly concentrated beam of energy that can slice through nearly any enemy. With a traditional backpack feed, the gun can shoot almost 100 rounds before needing to be reloaded, but Magni doesn't use that feed, and giving the gun only a few shots and the gun has an enormous reload time, every shot needs to be aimed carefully. Besides that, the sheer size and weight requires a long time to ready and aim, especially with Magni's minimum training with it. Normally it's only used under the cover of the rest of his team, but in this situation, it would only be used to fell a huge target.
Servo-Arm - Standard Issue for all Techmarines, this mechanical arm uses a spinal implant to perfectly sync with the Techmarine's thoughts. This arm has incredible strength, able to life objects weighing up to several tons. The arm itself can extend up to 1.5 meters from Magni. It's also a deadly weapon capable of smashing through nearly anything, pulping normal humans in one swing. Despite its power, it isn't incredibly flexible, and swift opponents could dodge it well enough.
Abilities: Space Marines were grown from a young age to be killing marines, and have many enhancements made to them, including organs that reduce their bleeding, reinforced bones, a gland that will let them spit acid, and lungs that allow them to survive gases that would instantly kill most. Magni's body is also modified to be stronger and tougher than most humans, allowing him to take damage and destroy things that could normally take out platoons of soldiers. The Armor Magni wears is incredibly strong, made of reinforced metals not known to many, forged with care, increasing his strength even further, allowing him to operate without food for long periods of time, and enhancing other basic abilities, but giving him poor dexterity, poor sneaking, and impressive speed, but poor turning.
Techmarines themselves have given their bodies up for more enhancements. Magni himself has had all of his limbs replaced with cybernetic ones, as well as several internal organs. With all of these parts in him, he's more machine than human now, and can take a great deal of punishment and experience very little pain because of it. These limbs also make him stronger, quicker, and help to make up for his poor dexterity, which is still well below par. With his Techmarine training, Magni is also proficient at repairing his gear, limbs, and armor, although doing this in the heat of battle is impossible. Also, the Techmarines, being members of the Mechanius cult, have learned to communicate with the machine spirit that resides within every piece of tech, including his armor and servo-arm. He's a true warrior to the end, but unlike many Space Marines of the Deathwatch, he knows restraint and will give up when he knows he is beaten.
Personality: Magni seems to have a very emotionless personality, as most of his personality was ground out of him in training. Despite this, Magni is actually very calm and collective, choosing mostly to calculate his situation and act without haste, knowing that most fights are won with the mind rather than with pure might. He also has a sense of humor that survived despite all the mechanical changes, and tends to joke a bit, although this is rare. Unlike many Space Marines, he's a little more accepting of other states of mind and beliefs, and is more willing to accept how others live in comparison to his Battle Brothers, although life without technology confuses him greatly.
Bio: Magni is a Dark Angle's Techmarine within the Deathwatch. Serving through the Terminus system, the Deathwatch and all of its chapters are dedicated to wiping out all threats to humanity, and keeping them united and peaceful. The Space Marines, genetically modified super humans, are the most effective members in this regard. From quick Tactical Sniper Marines to the hulking Dreadnaught, they're all specialized and incredibly effective killing machines. The Techmarines themselves are dedicated to maintaining technology, capturing alien technology, and preserving what they have, as well as making upgrades. It is with them that the most powerful and blessed pieces of technology are trusted. Magni is a relatively new recruit (In comparison to other Space Marines who have lived for over 1,000 years), and had completed several very important missions across the system. He and most of his battle brothers were sent invitations to some "Dimensional Tournament", although they never gave this any thought, as fighting along side the Deathwatch was much more important than any tournament. However, on a more recent mission to find a missing ambassador, one of the Librarian Space Marines (Those who use Psychic Powers), accidentally ripped a hole open in the Warp, unleashing a Demon Prince, and sending Magni spiraling through time and space. When he awoke, he found himself in need to return home, and only one way to do it: Enter the tournament. With that, he accepted his invitation and was transported to the tournament, where he plans to win decisively and demand passage back to his Deathwatch squad.
