Hiei felt the pull even from where he was standing. He rolled his eyes, waving his right arm in front of him. A dark aura covered the entire competitor's section, shielding those within from the gravity.
Fan watched her scattershot enter the gravity well, and felt it pull on her. Sure enough, when she looked down, the chain of her dagger with digging into her ankle, and the blade was starting to pull free.
That damn thing will crush me like a grape if I so much as touch the core. But the gravity pull is so strong... Fan closed her eyes tight and began to thing.
It's a black hole, which is a large core of mass so dense that it has this incredible pull. But he didn't create any mass, so it's likely he's just using a lot of energy to replicate the effect. That's why all of the others dropped; he needed the extra energy. But now I'm fighting gravity, how do I fight that? Fan's mind wandered, thinking of how to beat gravity. Even flying machines and birds weren't free of gravity, but were able to overcome it with their own abilities as resources. Abilities and resources which Fan didn't have at her disposal. As the gravity began pulling harder, and the dagger jerked free of the ring, her mind sped up.
Think simpler, idiot! What can defy gravity at a simple level!? And that simple image flashed through Fan's mind. A bucket. She gasped. She felt her feet leaving the ground, but reached down and grabbed a hold of her saw blade, still in the ground. She pulled herself down to it and hooked one of the rippes to her shoe. Now that she was attached to it, it was pulling out of the ground too, but it bought her a little time. Fan grabbed her chain dagger, and began concentrating on it.
Heavier... More mass... Denser... she thought. Slowly, the links on the chain seemed to grow, and become heavier. Like that, Fan began to swing the chain above her head like you would swing a lasso.
"More density, damn you!" Fan yelled as the chain seemed to bulk up even more. Now up to speed, Fan began to swing the chain whip down at her sides, making a looping motion at each side, back and forth. Amazingly, as she was doing this, the pull on her slowly began to lessen. Finally, she held her wrist still, directly above her head. She only moved in slightly, deliberate motions. The chain was swinging so fast now that it was impossible to see. You could only hear the sound of the wind around it, and the occasional slapping sound as the blade slapped against the ring. As soon as Fan did that, the pull on her ceased. "Got it..." she smiled, looking at her now helpless prey.
"What's wrong Pain Killer? Never take a physics class? If you did, you'd know that my harnessing centrifugal force, I can spread out my weight and create my own gravity around me. Sort of like swinging a bucket of water upside down over your head. That swinging force keeps the water in the bucket by harnessing the speed, weight, inertia, and gravity. So, by replicating that on a larger scale with my dagger, it seemed that I've created
The Centrifugal Shield!"
((And with that, the day is saved... BY SCIENCE!!!))
