I've never really had any terrible birthday presents. My family always asks what I would like for my birthday. I'm sure I've gotten a few disappointing video games, but none I can remember recently.

I appreciate everything I get as a gift although if its obvious that the person that has just picked up the 1st thing they spotted and put no thought into it, that I dont like.
I always put so much thought into gifts and a random book that was bought just because it was in English made me go...erm WTF dont you know me at all? No way am I a fan of epic war novels. XD

I got Spider-Man socks for no reason a couple years ago. After that, on every special occasion, I would get Spider-Man-related merchandise from my whole family: boxers, tshirts, action-figures, coloring-books and whatever they could find.
I'm not a big fan of Spider-Man these days.

Can't say I've had a 'worst birthday present' because I'm a grateful little sod.
I did have a humourous case last year where I was asked what I wanted for my birthday, but told not to ask for games. This led to my older sister to trying to guess a game to buy me (couldn't exactly stop her from buying video games), which ended up being one of those poorly done mini game collection games for the Wii. One of those games you can tell by the boxart that it's going to be rubbish.
I tried it and thanked her for it. Still worth noting though.
