If there's a problem then I'd say yeah, it's because the video game forums don't really get much activity now. It's kind of inevitable with the huge variety of games out now and the rate at which they're released though. Not many people just talk about one game non-stop nowadays, so the forums die kind of quickly.
Not sure if there's really any way to prevent that, though. Unless we just had one huge "Gaming" forum in which people could post whatever about whichever game, although there are obviously downsides to that too. Not least that it'd look ridiculous having lots of general boards and one gaming board on a gaming site.

That could work, definitely. Maybe keep General Gaming and the Pogeymanz forums seeing as they're the only really active ones I can think of right now.
I think they're just a little -too- fragmented at the moment and it puts people off a bit. I like Craiz's idea, but I think major game series such as Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Mario, Sonic, etc. should just have one forum each called like "Mario Series" or something, where all the games of the series can be discussed. And games with a lower reputation or stand alone games can be discussed within the genre-specific forums. Pokemon should probably stay unchanged, except combining same gen games together (such as Black and White).
