On my parent's house - Painted the entire thing, stained the front and back deck, helped built the back deck, put up new gutters around the entire thing.
On their garage - Repaired random damages throughout the entire thing. It's old.

My neighbor's garage - I've expanded it. She's the one who does the craft show stuff, so she needs a lot of space. Expanded, added storage space inside of it.

Sounds like you have too much fun Julian.
I helped paint a shop once, it was huge and it took 2 or 3 days to complete.
I helped my dad build our deck behind our house, it took all day but it was pretty fun.
I like to rake leaves and jump into them

Really?

So are you working towards becoming a Pharmacist, or is it just good work?

There are so many girls in my grade that want to be pharmacists. It's crazy.
I've never been interested in it, personally. :p

It's more of a part time thing just for some cash, but I could probably see myself working there fulltime.

Yeah. I mean, as long as the job is semi-enjoyable and you're making enough money, who really cares where you're working?

The pay is semi-important, but if you don't enjoy the job then it isn't worth it. Getting paid to do something you love is what should actually matter, as long as you make enough to live off of.

Oh okay, i understand.
They order the drugs, then put a the amount prescribed into a bottle and put a label on the bottle. Seems like a pretty easy job.

Nah. I'd say it's fifty-fifty between the two.
I mean... I'd perfectly be willing to do the crappiest job on the face of the earth, if I got paid enough. I don't care if I enjoy it - if I'm paid more than both of my parents put together, then I'm a happy camper.
But if I enjoyed something to no ends and had it as a job, but the pay was absolute crap, I wouldn't do it. I'd have it as a hobby, but as a full-time job? No.

To put it bluntly, i think your wrong.

Pay is fairly important, but tell me, would you rather wake up in the morning thinking, oh great, not this again.
Or wake up in the morning happy to go to work because it's something you enjoy? I've thought about this a lot, and no matter what i want, it's not as important as my being happy with the job i've selected, and doing it all day everyday, aside from the weekends hopefully.

I don't know. I feel like it's important to be happy, obviously.
But money is insanely important in this world.
If I have a crappy job that makes me unhappy, I'll do things in my free time that make me happy.
Make up for it.

I already had to do it with school.
I can handle it with a job, too.

If it takes only a crappy job to make your entire life unhappy, there's quite a bit more wrong in your life than just the job. :p

Well that's not what i meant, i mean i know people that have the jobs they love, and they have a decent pay check and everything. Money and Happiness are equally important, but wouldn't it be better to do something that makes you happy and pays good as well?

You talk like the only jobs that will make you happy don't pay enough. If that's the case then your looking in the wrong direction, and i can promise you there are better options out there for you.

School is only 12 years. The rest of your life is a long time. Tell me if you want a job that makes you happy, or a job that makes you unhappy.

No, no, no. That's not what I mean.

If there was a job that paid well AND made me happy, I would easily choose that over something else.
I just mean that, in my opinion, pay and pleasure are a fifty-fifty thing when it comes to jobs. You need at least one of them. And if you have one, you don't necessarily need the other.

I want a job that pays well -and- makes me happy. But if I can't find one like that, I'd prefer a job that pays well, personally, even if it doesn't make me happy.
Because I have the full ability to do hobbies that make me happy, in my free time.

Now that makes sense.

I understand where you are coming from, and honestly i think that's what i'd want too, if i can't have a job that makes me happy, i want one that pays well so i can support my family.

What a lovely discussion xD
