Did you guys ever see someone hack someone else's Facebook (or any profile on any site for that matter).

I'm not talking about when someone forgets to log out of their friend's computer and then posts "XOXO HACKED BY _____ Smile)))))" or anything like that, but when someone really tries hard and gets into someone else's account and changes their profile picture to a penis and then changes their password and get's their email blocked.

I mean what kind of no life loser does this kind of thing?

Nah, never really known anyone who's had their Facebook hacked, or anyone that hacks Facebook accounts. Seems like it would be hard though, what with FB having a record of your IP addresses and locations. You would probably have to find an IP that's close to the location of the person you're wanting to hack. :S

Oh yeah I'm sure it would be tough to do, but someone who knows their way around the computer and has no life off of the computer probably could do it.

Oh yeah, of course. Seems like more effort than it's worth, though. If it is really as difficult as I think it is, you'd have to really be mad at someone before you tried it.

Ha, I'm suddenly reminded of that fat guy from South Park who played WOW too much. xD

Though Businesses sometimes take the step to "ethically" hack your FB before appointing someone, of course not doing any of what Beneta said

This sort of thing is definitely done by someone who takes the internet too seriously. Hacking someone's Facebook messes with their real lives, and obviously the hacker wouldn't really know what real life is because if they did they wouldn't take things so far.

I feel sad for those hackers who don't know what to do in their lives rather than keep messing others' lives because themselves don't have a life to care for actually. Others don't feel their existence, sad.

Don't I know it. Effectively made quite a mess when it happened to me. Really isn't something I'd like anyone else to have to go through. Everyone should be aware of what info they give out over the net. Killers, crazy low lifes.. all sorts are out there.

Don't think I'm trying to scare you from the internet though. I have had nearly 10 years on forums and they've been some fantastic times. Damn unlucky for it to happen though.

I won't be put off the internet and forums though. That'd be like surrendering.

Truth is, I'm not prepared to do that. Of course it's always a risk, but backing down is for fags and smaller men in prisons.

Mainly though, I suppose if you're careful, it can be fine. Exceptional, even.

Oh, I've had a few friends' accounts compromised because they allowed some dodgy apps to access their account. Even my sister's account was overrun by some hacker who used it to advertise free iPads.

If a hacker isn't making a political statement or part of Anonymous, they're doing it for money. Personal information runs at a premium when you're not in insurance or law enforcement.

Yeah, when I let an application access it said some guy from Boston compromised my account on my email, though it was my fake account so I didn't care. Though, its really easy to hack someone... think about every time you receive a virus or trojan horse, a hacker can easily control your entire computer. Recently infected my computer with a rootkit trojan and took days to remove it, though its a little off-topic now..

I had my email compromised(I made a topic about it). I have to say, I never thought it would actually have happened to me if I hadn't experienced it first hand.

Like Crossy said, money, moolah and bucks are the motivation, though luckily I use an alternate email for facebook etc.

...one time I simply guessed my friends password. First try.

It was a bit of an ongoing week "war" for "pranks, however I gave him the chance to hold the white flag.

I typed a G-rated status as a warning flare, I won the war.
