I don't think the background needs anything added to it. The focus and the effects around it are the main point of the tag, in my opinion, and the background is just that... a background. It doesn't need a bunch of flashy effects added to it, or that'd just distract from the focal.

I don't mean flashy, It's a detail thing with me, as usually I can make excellent bg but suck at those sexy fg affects^

Yes, I've done a lot of digital art. Not any recently... haven't really touched Photoshop since... December. Other than a few random times of quick messing around.
I prefer drawing over digital art - but I've gotten into digital before. It's enjoyable.
Maybe I'll have to start up again... this summer, probably. Post some things here.
I can probably find some old things, and put them up... hmm...

as pretty much everyone knows... BGs have never really been my strong point... i kinda like to think i make up for it in other ways though.

That skrillex one is my very last tag that I ever did with GIMP. Probably my 2nd best BG work in that one, next to a halo tag I did like 3 years ago

Purple is one of the most amazing colours in existence. No contest. :D
The background in your Skrillex one is quite nice, but I feel kinda like the overall tag is a little boring.

haha its alright. that was my very first ever render and THAT was my very first tut :O. i put it on PR. it was on there for awhile, but then it was removed because i guess the belt buckle says "rape" and i never noticed it until later on haha
