POSTING RULES
4. No spamming outside Spam Fest: Spam degrades the image of the site, as we've seen when Rich experimented with a spam forum. [sees him glaring] Spam is defined as anything written that contributes little or nothing at all to the topic or lacks coherence. It can also be anything that people may find annoying and undesirable. Types of spam include:
⢠Advertising: No advertising is permitted on the forums, although you are allowed ONE (1) URL in your signature. We would like to keep our members. Only if the content of the site is relevant to the discussion, is cited as a reference, or has something that this site does not have should you place a URL. Any posts or threads advertising will be removed as soon as we get wind of them.
⢠Text irrelevant to the topic: Stay on topic, plain and simple. Also, read through the topic first before replying to ensure that you do not repeat a stated point.
⢠'Official' things: You have no right to create anything official on the forums; that is in the power of the moderators and administrators only.
⢠Propagation of another thread: Don't try to bump up your thread or propagate it elsewhere; people will view and reply to the thread as they see fit.
5. Post in the right forum: Read and think about the forum description before placing your topic. The moderators and administrators reserve the right to move any topic that is determined not to fit into the forum.
6. Keep your threads and content to a level appropriate for all ages: We will not tolerate anything posted on the forums that is intended to violate another person's beliefs or morals, propagates any nativist ideas, or contains pornography. The COPPA laws prevent people under the age of 13 from posting on the forums but does not prevent them from viewing them.
7. No illegal discussions on the forums: Subjects banned from discussion in the forums include but are not limited to ROMs, warez, bootlegs, or anything whose use may constitute an infraction of state or federal laws and/or copyright infringement. For more information, read the Warranty and Service Information areas of the game booklet to determine what actions will void your warranty or lead to prosecution. The administrators reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities if you are determined by them to violate such laws.
8. Do not ask anyone for personal information, and if asked, don't give any: Read the text in red for more information.
9. No swearing or profanity: Profanity also degrades the forums. There are certain filters in place to remove any profanity from view. Censoring words with asterisks is only used to cloak bad words â it is not an excuse to swear.
