I actually like these rules. Simple, to the point, addresses the major issues.
There will be that one moment when we don't agree on whether something belongs on this site, but that's why we have the Handbook, and why I'll be going over it over the next few weeks (and perhaps laying out a similar simplified code of conduct therein).
Here's TestVirus101's handbook. It's an old piece of scripture, it dates back to 2004 when it was somewhat lengthier, but over the years, and in particular since about 2008-9 it has been a fairly simple verse (some might even call it a flowchart):
(1) Does the post I'm reading break the rules? "Yes": Go to point (2) "No": No moderation is necessary
(2) Is the rule breaking significant? Would it be bad if I just left it there? "Yes": Go to point (3) "No": No moderation is necessary
(3) Delete the post, mention that you deleted it and explain why to the offender. Proceed to step (4)
(4) Is this person a problem offender? Is the offense significant enough to simply warrant a ban (i.e. a bot advertising by making topics) "Yes": Ban the user "No": No further action is necessary
Because your New, Talk to your Admin, He will explain everything to you...
I would Like to say: THANK YOU To the Admins and Mods that have Helped Me on my Account, Forums and Submissions... And the Help I`ll probably need in the future.
I believe there is something in place to prevent new members from making topics for a short time after registration. It's because of bots and spammers advertising nonsense on the forums. The restriction should be removed as you post more.
