Follow-up on the Discussion topics.

So now that we've this matter with people, we have come to the conclusion the all general chat topics shall from now on be regarded as Discussion and Debate topics and as such, all topics and the posts within must follow a new set of rules below. If the rules set forth are not followed, the account of the topic creator and users behind offending posts will be terminated immediately.

The rules are as follows;

-All posts must be at least 200 words long.
-All posts must contain an argument, a counter argument, and the arguments against both arguments explained in a valid objective way, citing credible sources.
-In no way shall anyone simply agree to ones argument, a counter argument must always be made, regardless of personal opinion (Single exception; see next rule)
-All posts must contain at least 1 paragraph of praise to Stormform or they will be deleted without notice. There will be no counter arguments to the paragraph of praise.

So these rules only apply for the threads with either Debate - (title) or Discussion - (title)?

I'd be in disagreement with a few of these, first of all the 200 word one. Now that's a lot of words. What if your counter argument can't reach that many words? I support the idea behind it, but I think that might be a bit counter productive. For example, a post of mine from the Abortion debate:

No it shouldn't as the illegalisation of abortion will result in a burst of crime due to an increase in kids raised in poor conditions, kids that otherwise would have been aborted due to the unreadiness of the mother.

That's about 50 words, but it clearly shows why I support abortion. How much more could I add to that?

Regarding "A counter argument must always be made", does that mean posts correcting others mistake, or expanding on someone else's point, are not allowed?

You could ad in support detailing states or countries that have outlawed abortion and any subsequent rise in crime that spawned from it, or you could cite statistics showing a decrease in crime in places where abortion is legal, for example.

You can still correct and expand on others posts if you have the same argument as them.

If these rules are going to go into effect, I need to know what threads require the rules. Maybe if a D&D section was re-created, it would be a lot simpler. No offense Stormy, but the 200 words isn't a good rule at all. Also, threatening to ban us just makes us want to follow the rules less.
