where to find the items to refine new weapons....

can anyone tell me where to find itmes for refining new weapons.......? and all the GFs are...?

The easiest way to get most of the best items for refining is to use Quesacotl's Refine Card ability and get them that way. There are many other GF abilitys that allow one to refine items from other items that will help, too. Mug (Diablos' skill) is the last-best option, in my opinion.

The [BOSS] monsters rarely ever drop their cards. You fight the creature you seek on Disc3, although I won't spoil storyline to explain it all - you'll know when you get there.

I suggest practicing at the card game. Use a strategy that will make sure your opponent has the hardest time possible taking your cards and just by only taking one of his\hers. The GF cards are great for this.

but watch out for the random rule

If you are having problems with the random rule, I suggest refining all of the normal and Boss cards (which are replaceable) to increase the chances of getting more powerful ones (GF&Character).

That is very true! now I for example refine anything at all that i don't need and come back to refine a few later.

diablos- defeat him in that magic lamp
laversomething ( see snake creature)-draw from norg
alexander- draw from edea
brothers- in the tomb of the unknown king
pandrsomething ( bird creature)- draw from fuijin when you first verse him
cerberus- defeat him
eden- draw from ultima weopon
doomtrain- collect all the its and somon him
tonberry- defeat about 18-20 tonberrys then defeat the tonberry king
cactuar- defeat jumbo cactuar

there is also odin which u can get from the centra ruins be4 u get tonberry
