MH-17 Shot Down over Ukraine

Just recently, a MH-17 plane flying over Ukraine was shot down, killing all 298 passengers on board. From what I've heard, Russia was funding money for the weapon that was used to bring down the plane. Both countries are blaming each other for this catastrophe.

What do you think on this tragedy? Who is to blame? Is this an act of terrorism? Feel free to debate and discuss your thoughts on this tragedy.

Update: It is now being said that it is likely Russia shot down the plane.If any information I have posted is wrong, please correct me.

Waiting to see how this plays out, no comment so far.

I'm hoping that this will eventually lead to Red Dawn...

298 were on board.
No-one survived the crash.
The Russian military shot the plane down, 'apparently' thinking it was a Ukrainian military plane.
154 people from the Netherlands were on board.
43 from Malaysia.
28 from Australia.
12 from Indonesia.
9 from the UK.
4 from Germany.
Also 4 from Belgium.
3 from the Philippians.
1 from Canada.
40 people are unverified.

With an Admin. I don't get much news coverage out here so fill me in on this story.

Just searching MH-17 on the internet gives you dozens of pages & articles on the story.

The current consensus in the western world is that it was shot down by the separatists when they thought it was a Ukrainian military cargo plane. They thought the airspace was closed from passenger traffic.

That's bull. A commercial airliner looks nothing like a cargo plane. Especially at rocket range.

Don't make assumptions like that, planes at that height are barely visible to the naked eye, They're using radars, but because they lacked all the stations usually used for S.A.M's, they couldn't confirm what the plane was. And since they thought the airspace was closed for commercial traffic, they assumed it was a Ukrainian cargo plane.

I assumed it was shot down by a rocket launcher. You can't hit a plane at 30,000 feet with a rocket launcher.

It was shot down by a Surface-to-Air Missile

There are still some passengers unidentified but It's most likely there were 0 Americans on board.
