Life's kinda been hitting me a little hard man. I'm home on break but I'm still taking classes so that's keeping me busy and I managed to alienate my best friend somehow. So I've just been keeping my head down and doing a little bit of soul-searching as cliche as it sounds
**** man I know what you mean don't worry about it sounding cliche. It's good to get some perspective and find where you reside spiritually, and once you find that place you'll just be grooving with yourself a lot better.
They combined forums because the forums were dead in the first place. Though I'm assuming Rich could put all the threads back, your still going to have a bunch of dead forums with very minimal posts making the GENERAL section of forums look dead once again. If people are still posting/viewing ads in the gaming section of the site, sure. But I wouldn't know why they would, since cheats aren't the biggest of thing anymore. What's big is walkthroughs/snippets, fan content that I don't see a lot of in a comfortable way on SC.
"But Cryzen! Look at all the walkthroughs!"
Sure. Look at how they feel cluttered, even with ones that are well organized with pics n videos. When you click on a video you don't feel like your on the game, your just on another page of SC that contains walkthrough((sidenote, some of the easier to read walkthroughs that pop up on Google use this little immersion)) And the supercheats walkthrough? On Page two, behind tons of of other walkthroughs that you will never get too.
SC doesn't have it's search page staying power, despite rich being told by many of people with solid suggestions to help it. We didn't want to see the place die, but it did. We fought each other, over and over, somehow kinda won after losing 3/4 of the population then just went down from there. It's not just general forums, it's SC as a whole. Outdated looking, I find myself clicking on the ads at the bottom for more interesting articles((no matter how click baity)) and there's nothing else of interest here due to the community death.
I'm happy to listen to ideas (and thanks warrior for alerting me to this thread) And if there is demand for change I'm happy to put together a plan to implement what you want.
But we are having real trouble getting people to interact on the forums apart from a few stalwart members. Maybe its because there are many other ways to interact on the site - eg comments, we get hundreds daily.
But I'm listening...
... And the site certainly isn't dead, we are the busiest we have ever been, over Christmas we attracted in the region of 400,000 users per day! So people do like what we have to offer on the website - just see no reason to post on the forum.

The forums aren't doing so great, not ideal. However there's some cracking features and content. You being a muppet making depressing threads like this every 6th day won't improve a thing.
This One (Expressing Concern) Crossy (Thanking Cross_Stinger) Anyone Feel Like This (Just posted a funny Family Guy clip) My Merry Christmas Thread (That's obviously)
Think, or at least do some research, before you speak, dude.
First - I'd like to say thank you superblooby, for your tremendous support for SC, & kind opinions of Warrior. You obviously care so much about SC; creating PXE & staying around with the troll group that came here in the first half of 2014. What we are trying to do it HELP the forums thrive again, not mentioning how a legendary member (yes, he deserves that legend title) is pathetic & is being a muppet.
Second - It's evident there's a problem, but with some time & effort, it can be fixed. There have been several recent discussions about ways to attract new members and get them to stay, or ways to attract old members, even if it's just for a couple of days.
- Advertising it the best method of attracting new members. There is that ad that sometimes appears in the top-left corner of the screen, but there needs to be a more effective way to attract members in. As mentioned by sauske, perhaps a pop-up can appear once a guest or member has made a certain amount of posts (possibly 5), giving information about the forums, maybe with an image of several thread titles & another image of some posts inside a thread.
- A mass-email directed to all old SC members has been mentioned in the past, but never done. This is the time to do it. Send an email to everyone, saying 'Come on down to the SuperCheats.com forums on (date) to catch up with old friends. Have a laugh, a joke, create memories' or something similar to that. Another idea built onto that could be having a week-long MVP competition around when the members return (I know the last MVP was the final one, but you could always make an exception).
- The community manager we had (Warrior13) was doing a tremendous job of keeping the forums alive (the Pokemon Brawl 2014, replying in 20+ posts daily, creating interesting threads, contributing MAJORLY to the site with answers to unanswered questions, hundreds of wiki pages, heaps of videos, cheats, hints, reviews, full reviews, you name it). It shocked me when a full-time job idea Warrior had was rejected. How does months & months of working overtime, keeping the forums thriving & creating a complex Pokemon Brawl result in a request for a full time job (along with several more ideas such as his own 'Warrior Challenges', where he would create competitions for different categories of the site ie forums, answers, wikis, & would take care of the prizes/money HIMSELF, submitting 'thousands' of video walkthroughs for Pokemon games (one of the most viewed sections), assisting with the next Pokedex update, keeping his Pokemon trade shop running, & he would keep submitting answers, cheats, hints and reviews). Warrior also mentioned that he would 'commit 30-40 hours per week for a full time position'. If we had Warrior back, the forums would be doing absolutely fine. I don't know if he would still accept a full-time offer, but you could always try asking, if you want the forums to be active.
Rich, I really hope you read this, & take it into consideration. For the time being, I won't be posting in General Chat, I'll just be reading through the new posts. I really want to be able to enjoy the SC forums again, & if things improved, I would definitely make a return to posting.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
tbh any and all "trolling" actually could have been ended with ya'll saying something as simple "ya'll on some dumb **** and can stop"
Would have ended, old members of SC would have nostalgiaed some more and then would have left back to the community where we can chill, post whatever for whatever and had fun. But you guys tried to fight back against something that didn't need to be fought back against. tl;dr, learn to internet.
Anyways if ya'll read blobby's statement and then thought about, click back to page two. There actually is an unneeded about of "blah blah I'm leaving, blah blah It's dead, blah blah I'm back to say hi and I left a week ago." If you active thriving forums that should never be an issues.
There's nothing fun in the topics, it's a bunch of general topic questions that your like "yeah I posted, what now?" Let's say you get more people, here...actually scratch that. I can use another forum site and explain it.
I am a member and still drop in on occasion on the website of Tagfreak.net. It's a graphics art site that was primarily started on the frontier of tags, the custom designed images you put in your sig space. SC used to have that section, it died. I used to go to another site, it's owner got negligent and that community moved to TF. TagFreak thrived and went through a lot of periods so super activity, to low, to normal. It had the main thing we were there for((Art in all forms, not just tags)), general forums, spam forums, competitive art teams, tagging competitions you name it. It also had a chat box at the top of the screen for random whatever conversations, and the spam sections itself could be something closer to the PXE's standards, whatever and chill. It was moderated yes, but only for serious things. Say superb spam, art theft, racism, porn, mouthing off. Those were bans. Other than that you could like people, not like people, and publicly say that with minimal whining. It was great.
Now it recently((well, six months)) it went through what SC went through. People lost interest in things, moved on to professional art scenes, jobs, design firms, other college pursuits((as it was just a a hobby to some)) and p much died for a bit. It's rebounded a bit now, but it had all those things, went through the what can we do now phase, had competitions n what not, and it's kinda stabilized, but not even close to the same. But let me tell you what went behind the scenes.
Give you a hint
Same thing that happened here.
Splinter groups popped off, not bad, but as people got closer on the site, and interests died, the moved on to other things. Facebook, smaller forums, real life. Gaming was a big thing on the site and I for one still game with a good group of those((including the head admin herself, who only checks in to check in really, maybe organize something)) without going to the site.
Communities change and realign themselves all the the time, and usually after a serious decline like this, especially with the way the sites been cleaned up and reorganized within the last two years, there's not a real way to get it back to it's hay day unless serious changes occurs. And serious change hasn't occurred even when the was active and clamored for it.
