What happened to SC???

No guest posting is disabled. Do you know where you saw it?

I am very sure I seen it in The Sims FreePlay forum. It was after user Gwen8591 posted on August 9th.

BTW, if you see this. Any ideas how to make the Video Game forums more easier to navigate without having to search for the specific forum? Just wondering if there was an update or any thought of working on that.

Yeah, I swear I saw guest posts on TSF after the disabling...

Been trying to think of ways to improve the ease of use of the forums, VG forums especially. If you want to post in a game forum would you just search for it, or would you look for links to it via a platform? Or alphabetical list or some other way?

I understand the mechanics of using the search, but even as someone viewing the forums. I like to be able to see what you have on the site. There are many games we have not even ever heard of that use to draw my attention back in the day. I'd go in the forum and see what was said about it and gain interest depending if I liked it or not.

I don't remember when y'all cut out the specific board forums. I know the original categories are still there though. EDIT - They don't seem to have much interest in people, which I don't recall if many posted there or not. Maybe a merge into one simple discussion forum, but not Retro gaming it deserves its own forum. That is history there.

Just an idea to run by you - What if it was setup like it was although say a multi-platform game say Destiny. It'd be the same forum but reachable thru say

Video Game Boards > PlayStation 3 Forums > Destiny
Video Game Boards > PlayStation 4 Forums > Destiny
Video Game Boards > Xbox 360 Forums > Destiny
Video Game Boards > Xbox One Forums > Destiny

But still the same forum just reachable by all consoles cause it is available for all 4.

Yeah I think that would be simpler

The list wouldn't be that bad to look at either, maybe use the letter links to drop to that specific title name.

If I was sitting in the Xbox One Board, I clicked D. It would drop down the page to the section D where all the games titled D would be listed. I'd find my game there.

That's pretty much why I don't post in VGF (apart from how it's basically abandoned). It's hard to navigate. Maybe if it gets a redesign then new posters will post?

I think so, the forums being posted in to date from what I can tell have just been listed on the popular forums list.

Maybe the popular forums list instead of being like how a normal forum looks can be a side ways table of some sort so it doesn't eat the page.

That's my biggest dislike that it eats the page, no offense. I just don't like it.

Yeah, chuck it on the side or the bottom possibly.

By the way I saw a guest post in latest posts list yesterday.

Have you guys thought about archiving some of the old content, and letting new content bloom and blossom on its own? I understand the sentimental value that the old SC holds for many of us (it was exactly what I needed 07-09), but I don't think SC will ever be like that again.

I currently have trouble finding new content vs old content that has been revived or kept alive.

Yeah, we should archive old forums, class them under 'Archived forums'

I am certain most what dumped in this forum as of the deleting of the forums.

Wow, I think there is something wrong with me.

I meant - Old forums that no longer exist now was deleted and the threads that was within that forum, were transferred to this forum General Chat. You can go back and look in the pages here and see threads from the old Teams and Clans forum.
