If NY Giants can find a good QB this coming draft it will be worth picking Barkley, but that's a big gamble. They could be stuck to the bottom of the NFC East for years if their pick turns out to be a bust.
Like you say it was a bad move though. I've always been a believer that Eli is washed up, and it's still showing year after year. To me Sam Darnold seems like a QB who would benefit from a year learning the basics of NFL-caliber football, and having him sit behind a 2-time SB winner and 37-year old veteran would've been ideal.
Seeing how badly NY Giants played, I'm actually confident Washington will beat Carolina on Sunday. I mean, NY Giants scored 31 points, IN Carolina, and in most cases would've won. Last night they scored 13 points, at home.

That?s absolutely correct Matt, if the Giants don?t get a quarterback who is capable of taking them to the playoffs in the next 2-3 years the Barkley pick would have been a waste and Darnold will be a veteran quarterback in his prime who rips them apart twice a year.
I hope you?re right about Washington, I don?t trust them at the moment. Josh Norman got benched last week he was playing so bad and he?s the leader of that secondary. I?m starting to hear whispers that he?s not the cover guy he once was.
The Giants were always going to lose against Philadelphia, they know each other too well playing twice a year whereas these inter division games throw up some strange results. I still think MacCaffery is going to have a big day catching little swing passes over the middle and still no word if Peterson is playing after his dislocated shoulder last week.
The game that interests me this week is Kansas at New England. If Mahommes and the Chiefs walk away from Foxboro with a convincing win they will need to be taken seriously. I?ve given the edge to New England in a high scoring close fought game, something like 28-31
The Giants have a horrible o-line. Eli would be doing much better if he didn?t have multiple defensive players in the backfield less than two seconds after snapping the ball. Eli is near the end, but if they had an offensive line that was actually good, the Giants could easily be an 11-5 ball club.
Well it's sure looking good for whoever the Giants pick in the draft...
The stats support my WLWL theory about Washington. Jay Gruden sides are 14-6-1 after a loss, and Alex Smith is 9-6 after a loss in recent times. Just when you think Washington are a sneaky chance to win, they stink the joint, but when you think they're sure to lose (week 3 vs Green Bay), they win easily.
Personally I see NE beating KC as default. I don't think it will even be close. Week 6 was when KC started their slide last season, and Mahomes' first 2INTs of the season are a warning sign. Something like NE 38-21 seems appropriate.
Also Tennessee are surely going to win. In their last 13 home games, they are 12-1. That home loss was week 1 2017.

Matt, you may want to consider changing your Washington over Carolina tip. Chris Thompson is out and Adrian Peterson is playing banged up which isn?t a good sign as he only managed single digit yards last week in that condition. Crowder, one of the wide receivers is out, I can?t see how Alex Smith is going to win this one.
I heard about Tannenhill, it doesn?t affect me as I have Mack and the Bears to maul the Dolphins.
Matt, looks like you are onto a winner with Washington, they?ve come out fired up for this game, they were 14-0 up in the first quarter. Not sure what to make of the Redskins, after hearing about the locker room shenanigans that went on half time at New Orleans last week I can now see why they performed so badly in the second half. This week Peterson is currently running for 6.5 yards a carry to MaCaffry?s 3.3, the front four of the Redskins are turning into a formidable unit as MaCaffry came into the game as the second highest runner in yardage in the league, can they do the same to Elliot next week when they go to Dallas?
Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati is going down to the wire, probably a Steeler win if the Bengals can?t pull away in the second half. Jets look like they are going to upset the Colts who the are currently leading by 10points. Bears vs. Dolphins is going to the wire. The Bears are pulling away 14-10, they picked up 2 Interceptions which didn?t help Miami?s cause.
Outstanding tipping by Warrior13, he?s called the Thursday night game and the early Sunday evening games correct.
Miami win with 3 seconds left in OT, great win for the Dolphins. I got that one wrong, I also got the Washington game wrong. The game that really annoys me though is the Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati game where the Steelers once again scrape the win. I got that game wrong also although the Bengals were winning right up to the very end. How did the Jets beat the Colts who easily beat the Redskins. The Jets are usually garbage.
I just have to hope I can make some ground in the late games but I don?t think so.
These tipping weeks keep getting stranger and stranger.
Darnold torched Indy, essentially ending Indy's season at 1-5. The Pittsburgh Dogs are back sadly, and with Bell returning soon they're easily favourites for the division. LA Chargers stopped all the Cleveland hype with a dominant display. Houston barely got past dysfunctional Buffalo QB play. Miami came back from the dead several times, as Chicago too choked several times. Minnesota managed to beat a horrible team this time. Atlanta scraped past Tampa Bay to keep their season alive, barely. Seattle bucked their away trend to show why I tipped them in 3 consecutive upsets to start the season. Oakland are in serious trouble, and should be 0-6. Washington did their usual and had a great win against quality opposition. I guarantee they will get destroyed by Dallas next week. LA Rams got a close win against Denver, and are starting to run out of steam. Bortles bucked the trend, and put in 2 consecutive shockers, as Dallas destroyed Jacksonville. I got the Tennessee tip horrible wrong, as they were shutout! NE got a classic win after KC came back from nowhere, only to lose by a late FG.
That's such a great win for Washington. I sure needed that for my tipping. They maintain their lead in the division, but they have to be careful because Philly & Dallas have found form. If they had lost this game, they would've been cooked. According the the stats, Washington are favoured to win just 2/9 of their remaining games.
Another great, gusty, & lucky win for Miami too! Chicago twice were at MIA 1 and threw an INT and lost a fumble. Then Kenyan Drake had the ball at CHI 1 in overtime, only to lose a fumble himself! THEN Chicago's kicker (who played for Miami last season) missed a 53-yard FG! Then Miami kicked a 47-yard FG with 3 seconds left! It seems Brocktober is real. Despite 2INTs (one was Parker's fault) his 380 yards and 3TDs were seriously impressive. As for Chicago, maybe Warrior is right. For Chicago, that is a disgraceful loss that will probably be the difference when it comes to qualifying for playoffs. After stinking the joint @ NE and then choking a 17-0 lead @ Cincy, they are actually where I expected them to be when I predicted in week 3. Hosting Detroit next week is huge.
In terms of score, I've gone ok in tipping with 9/14, but Warrior's insane 12/14 so far has killed us. My Oakland and Tennessee upset picks fell through, but I went well with picking Washington. Dennis sadly your Indy & Tennessee upsets fell through too. Meanwhile Warrior only got Tennessee wrong, but correctly picked Pittsburgh, Miami, & Washington.
San Francisco are stunning Green Bay @ GB 27-23 with 22 minutes left! I doubt they can hold on, but who knows. Since trailing 7-17, they have outscored GB 20-6.
Someone HAS to trade for CJ Beathard next year.
Green Bay just missed a 4th down pass at SF 3, giving the ball to SF who hold a 30-23 lead.

The Niners Defense just couldn?t finish the job. Sherman was called for a penalty that would?ve ended the Packers final drive and gave the Niners one last shot.
Beathard showed once again that he?s clearly a starter in NFL and not just a backup. Even though he had pressure throughout the night, he still shreded the Packers D when given the play calls to do so. The late interception wasn?t even his fault; clearly pass interference + wideout didn?t even try to catch the ball. I completely agree with you Matt, someone needs to trade for Beathard if the Niners choose to stick with Garoppolo next year.
Matt, what makes you so sure Dallas are going to beat Washington at FedExField? Dallas won?t be able to rely on Elliot as the Redskins this year have Allen, Payne, and Settle waiting for him and when pressure is put on Prescott he becomes a less than average quarterback. The Redskins run defense has gone from one of the worst in the league to top 5. Macaffery of the Panthers did nothing on Sunday and he at the time was second in rushing behind Elliott. I think this game will be close either way.
That right there is why Aaron Rogers will be in the Hall of Fame and Brees May have to wait a while, the guy?s ability to pull out wins in the face of adversity.
Dennis, Washington are 1-6 against Dallas in their last 7 games against them and 0-4 in the last 2 seasons. Surely you're aware of their Dallas hoodoo? Remember last season they played Dallas when they were without Elliot and in terrible form, and Dallas killed them 38-14. Also remember the pattern with Washington. Week 1 shutout, week 2 lose to a 1-5 team, week 3 dominate Aaron Rodgers, week 5 get slaughtered, week 6 beat Carolina. W L W L W _? Surely an L goes here.
Also remember that Dallas just crushed Jacksonville 40-7...

Yeah Matt, you've convinced me, sounds like the Cowboys have the Redskins number.
What's the betting I pick the Cowboys and Peterson decides to have a big 150 yard 2 Touchdown game. There's also the element of the Cowboys have not faced this Redskins team with Alex Smith leading it, should be an interesting game it's an important game being a divisional one and could decide the outcome of the NFC East down the line.
