I didn't see that coming at all. It will be interesting how many times Brees targets him, since Michael Thomas is the #1 WR and playing at pro-bowl level. Certainly Dez won't be tearing games apart, but like you say on a day where he's motivated, he could be dangerous.
I went with 7 home and 7 away teams this week. I tipped 3 upsets also, and they were all away teams. It's usually a bad sign when you don't tip more home teams than away, but eventually that has to change. I'm not going to catch up to you both by tipping conservatively.

I think the main purpose of Dez Bryant on the Saints team is to take away some of the coverage on Michael Thomas and Dez Bryant being a former Pro Bowl player means opposing teams have to take him as a serious threat. Bryant won't get the lions share of the passes but he will get a few during the course of the game to keep the defense honest.
I feel good about my tips this week, I have five away teams. I'm hoping to get that extra one point bonus for getting all the games correcct. There's not one game this week I feel unsure about. If I had to choose one game it would be the Washington against Tampa Bay which is a case of which Redskins team is going to turn up and is Fitzmagic going to have one of his 400 yard 3 Touchdown passing days.
There are quite a few I'm unsure about. Any of my 3 upsets could easily backfire, and there are some others where an upset could happen. It would be a miracle for any of us to get 14/14.
Last time Fitzpatrick played an elite defense, he got benched on a 10-48 loss. All he does it throw it downfield, so if Washington are awake, they have a chance for lots of INTs. The worry is that Washington repeat their New Orleans and Atlanta passing D performances. What is in their favour though is that they win more games than lose after a loss.
I also keep having this strange feeling about MIA @ GB. Realistically this should be a 38-10 Green Bay win, but Miami's defense played out of the park last week, keeping NY Jets to 0 touchdowns and picking Darnold off 4 times. That was without one of their best defenders Reshad Jones, who removed himself from the game. If he plays this week, Miami could show the NFL why they are the #1 intercepting team with 15 takeaways.

Blech. Carolina scored first to lead 7-0, but then Pittsburgh destroyed them, winning 52-21!!! There's nothing dog-like about this season's Steelers. Big Ben: 22/25 (88%), 328 yards, 5TDs 0INTs. This makes Washington's win against CAR look mediocre...
Bad luck Dennis. I thought Carolina had a sneaky chance, but I tipped Pittsburgh by 10. This puts Warrior ahead by 1 more...

I was so annoyed when I saw I didn't beat you in the margin. I was sure you wouldn't go as far as 10 -_-
...we have tipped identically on Thursday games 10/10 times... This is how you're thrashing us! By copying me!
... 10/10 times. This week I tipped a margin of 10. You also tipped a margin of 10. There have been 10 rounds of NFL. It is 10 days until my first uni exam.
Illuminati confirmed.

I could have swore I took Pittsburgh to win that game. I got a bit of a shock this morning when I sawCarolina and a Red Cross next to it. I even said a couple of posts back the Steelers are starting to look good after Warrior13 bet against them last week. Pittsburgh at home and I took Carolina? I?ll have to check my tips more carefully each week. Just like last week I?ve dropped a game before the Sunday matches have even begun. I literally need to get all the rest right now to stay on track, and yes, I?ve now double checked them.
I see the Pittsburgh players have turned their backs on Levon Bell, they don?t want him back, they?re quite happy with Conner. Rumour has it Bell is going to Be a Dolphin next year.
Ouch. I always get paranoid about putting in the wrong tip, but luckily it hasn't happened to me yet. One thing I'll point out incase you haven't realised, is that on the NFL website the first team listed is the away team, but on the tipping website the first team is the home team. Ie on NFL.com it is CAR @ PIT, but on tipping it's PIT vs CAR. A couple of times you've mentioned that you thought the home team would win, when they were actually the away team and vice versa. If in doubt check the venue of the game.
Bell will probably start next week, since James Connor conveniently got concussion in the 4th quarter. I'm looking at it pessimistically, but these sort of things happen a lot. Miami don't need Bell, if he bizarrely decided to join Miami. We have Kenyan Drake, and I doubt Bell would want to join a team that will be missing playoffs for the next 3 years at least.
Unless there is a miracle scan result, Dez Bryant has just tore his achilles on the final play of practice, and will miss 8 months of football. That is if he plays again. It looks like his career is over...

There is absolutely no way Bell goes to Miami. Unless, however, we are willing to be stupid enough to give him 20+ million per year. No happening though.
The top landing spots for Bell, in my opinion, are the following: #1: Pittsburgh (They have so much leverage over him) #2: Green Bay (Aaron Rodgers needs help) #3: New England (Just to mess with the Steelers) #4: Houston (Probably willing to go all in next year with Watson) #5: Philadelphia (Rumored to have had interest, just not enough to trade for him) #6: Indianapolis (Have the need and the money to spend) #7: Baltimore (Really need a running back, Bell gives payback to Steelers) #8: LA Rams (Would be difficult, but could be pulled off if Goeff is okay with not getting paid) #9: San Francisco (They have the money, and he might wanna play with Jimmy G) #10: Oakland (Would help turn around the franchise with all those draft picks)
If he goes to any of the other twenty-two teams, I'd be pretty shocked.
From your list, I'd say the 2 most likely destinations are Houston and Baltimore in that order. Those 2 teams are in desperate need and either have no franchise RB or an older RB. And I may be totally wrong, but he seems like the kind of guy who would want to play under a black QB (assuming Flacco is done). After that, it's Green Bay, but they do have a project RB in Aaron Jones. NE are in trouble, but they can get one cheap and turn any average RB into a serviceable one.
Imo there's maybe a 20% chance Bell stays with Pittsburgh, simply because James Connor is having a Pro-Bowl season, is younger and cheaper, and causes no drama. While Philly's running game is struggling, they have enough players assuming Ajayi can come back from his ACL. Indy also seem to have found their young franchise QB too. LA Rams would be crazy to give anyone other than Gurley the ball to run with, plus they've already signed countless big name players in the past year. (NB: Goeff? Lol) San Francisco are an outside chance, but to me they don't seem like contending very soon. And Oakland...lol. He can' even play with them, since they will be Las Vegas soon :p
As for teams not on your list, I wouldn't be surprised if Bell chose Cleveland or Washington. They're also 2 teams that are desperate. Imagine Peterson, Guice, and Bell all in the same team? It could work considering that would hypothetically be Peterson's last season. And with Cleveland, it would provide the same revenge factor as Baltimore.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
I think Le'Veon Bell's stock has plummeted considerably from the beginning of the season seeing how James Connor has taken over his role at Pittsburgh and is producing a pro bowl season. Makes you wonder how good Le'Veon Bell actually is and how good the offensive lineman for Pittsburgh are. Pittsburgh don't need Bell back, the guy's a toxic influence in the locker room and the team is doing fine without him.
I nearly choked when Matt said Bell could end up in Washington, I don't want to see Bell in a Redskins uniform. I'm hoping Guice recovers from his injury and has one season under the wing of Adrian Peterson. I'm quite happy with Chris Thompson as the third back, Smith has a good rappaport with him as can be evidenced by the number of passes he catches.
Looks like Bell won't be in a Miami Dolphins uniform, you'll be happy to know that he's just left Florida. Now with James Connor suffering a concussion it looks like Bell will be back in a Steeler uniform for the time being. He's definately getting traded during the offseason, his own teammates don't like him.
I put money on Bell goes to the Jets, looks like the Jets have pulled Sam Darnold. The story is foot sprain, more like the Jets have decided to put their prized asset in storage until they get him some decent blockers and a running back. I don't blame them, no point getting him injured for next season. He's had enough NFL experience this year to learn from.
I agree totally with you about Bell. He is a very overrated player.
Bell has to sign a franchise tag by Tuesday (US time I assume) otherwise he can't play for the rest of the season. The latest rumour is that Pittsburgh are now happy for Bell to go, and that he will never play for Pittsburgh again.
Dennis, you know how incompetent Washington as an organisation are. It would not surprise me one bit if they bring him in. And it would be funny too considering they wouldn't sign Cousins long term, who is now playing very well for Minnesota.
I hope Bell goes to NY Jets, because he will have a miserable time. They have potentially ended Sam Darnold's career by stupidly starting him from day 1. Josh McCown had an above average season last year (in an awful team) with 18TDs and 9INTs for a 94.5 passer rating. To put it into perspective, Darnold has thrown 5 more INTs in 4 less games.

Good call Matt taking Washington to beat Tampa Bay, I was right and wrong about Fitzpatrick though. I knew he would have to throw against the Redskins which he did for over 400 yards, I just didn?t factor he would throw two interceptions and no Touchdowns and the Bucs would fumble twice resulting in 4 turnovers. Have to say the Washington defense won this game for the Redskins as the offense led by Smith and Peterson did nothing worth mentioning, a couple of below average performances to be honest. I don?t think Peterson will be back next season as a Redskin, the guy is only picking up 3.6 a carry, he?s more of a diversion to keep the safeties near the line of scrimmage to be honest.
Cleveland are on their way to upsetting Atlanta, I didn?t see that one coming..
Didn?t see the Patriots losing to Tennessee either, I thought that game was a formality.
Hopefully I?ll get the later games right as I?m having a bad week at the moment.
I have to admit I?m impressed with Cleveland, Baker Mayfield is looking like the next NFL superstar, he was 17 of 20 with 3 Touchdowns today against Atlanta.Their rookie running back Nick Chubb is turning out to be a great pick, he got 175 yards rushing today, the sort of performance I thought Adrian Peterson was going to do last week against Atlanta?s dreadful run defense.
Did anyone see that pass TO Brady? That is exactly why he fell to the 7th round.
Finally I am winning a week! (for now). We all tipped the same except for me going with Washington. I was really worried with that tip, but somehow Tampa Bay scored 3 points?!?!?! Fitzpatrick passed for 400 yards, but 0TDs??? What? I think I had my fair share of luck with that game.
New Orleans are the unstoppable ones now. This was suppodesly a trap game being away from home, but they destroyed Cincy 51-14! Brees was 22/25 for 3TDs, and has to be 2nd behind Mahomes in MVP discussions. And...Atlanta. THIS is why they weren't going to make playoffs. When you have to make up ground on other teams, any upset loss is soul-crushing. After being wrongfully criticised, it's good to see Mayfield pass at 85% accuracy. Jacksonville's season is over after their narrow loss to Indy. Even with Bortles playing very well they can't win. Where did their supposed elite D go? Buffalo have finally found a capable QB in Matt Barkley, who passed for 2TDs in one game after Buffalo had scored 3 passing TDs in the entire season prior! Washington played to their strengths, and rode their D to a crucial road win. It amazes me that Alex Smith still isn't going long. ...Tennessee! I saw this as a major trap game but wasn't brave enough to go for it. But 34-10!!! Tennessee have slotted into my predicted #6 seed spot now. Oakland scored 0TDs again despite reasonable numbers from Carr. But they showed nothing to suggest they're still not tanking. Miami kept up with Green Bay in the first half, but could only score 4FGs for the match and no TDs. This offense is probably the worst in the league right now. Seattle came so close yet again to upsetting LA Rams. That D of LA's is a huge problem though.
Dennis, Washington are absolutely back in the playoff race with their win. Especially since Philly host Dallas as I type (are trailing 3-13). Either Dallas's season will be over ( ) or Philly will fall 2 games behind. And I just read that from this point on, Philly have the 2nd-hardest schedule.

This Dallas @ Philly game is neck and neck. Dallas got a decent lead, and Philly have tied the scores several times, only for Dallas to score instantly. Dallas are leading after it was 13-13, 20-13, 20-20, and now 27.20. Philly just got stopped 1 yard short on 4th down, but Dallas's clock management is awful, giving Philly the ball back for 30ish seconds. They've spiked the ball to get ready for the hail mary. Dallas are just letting them gain yards; the hail mary won't even be that long a distance now.
Wow. The 'hail mary' will be a 9 yard pass if successful. Dallas deserve to lose this game.
They got very, very lucky. So did Washington, because that gives them a 6-3 to 4-5 lead over Philly. Dallas got the ball back with 1min 9secs left, and somehow screwed up their game management to punt the ball 16 seconds later.
I think it's time you both believed me when I say there are issues in Philly. They couldn't win, at home, to Dallas. Realistically Philly need to sweep Washington, or hope for them to crumble in order to make playoffs. It's Washington's to lose now, regardless of injuries.

Triple post I know, but the Monday game was critical.
My tipping week got even better, with NY Giants coming back to win 27-23. Late it was basically a game of who wants to give away the most crucial game-changing penalties. There was a point when trailing 20-23, NY Giants were at SF 41 and gave away a 5-yard penalty. Then when facing a 3rd and 12, they got lucky cause SF gave away their own 5-yard penalty, and the next play a 10-yard penalty. Then SF gave away a 16-yard penalty a few plays later. Then after taking the lead. NY Giants gave away a 15-yard penalty that allowed SF to march down the field for their hail mary attempt.
Mullens came down to earth slightly, but still played well enough. His first INT was arguably unlucky since there were 2 WRs in catching distance, and then his 2nd was a WR spilling the catch. Luckily for him he gets a bye week before taking on the disgusting Tampa Bay D. He'll be back to looking like a HOFer soon lol. Beathard has a battle on his hands to win back the starting job, cause he and Mullens look to be roughly the same in ability.
Well done Matt, I think that's three you pulled me back on this week. One was my mistake and the other two were incredibly lucky, even so, a win is a win. That now puts you one behind me and eight behind Warrior13 who just nees to play the remainder of the games conservatively to win the competition while you and me need to back risky games to have any chance of pegging him back.
I think you'll ovetake me this week Matt, there's about five games in the coming week I don't like the look of. I still can't believe I only got 6 out of 14 right last week, they all looked like definites before the games.
