Stafford was having a career-best season until he got injured. Detroit don't have a problem putting points on the board. But that defense is atrocious. If the Detroit Lions organisation built around him and created a defense that doesn't force Stafford to come up with 30 points a game to win, they would have some success.
I missed following the game cause of an income tax exam (ugh), but it sounds like Indy got robbed. Houston lost a fumble, only for it to not be called a fumble. It could've given Indy a chance to either tie, or win the game. Oh boy Dennis, I feel for ya.
Warrior, you see what happens when you tip the same as me? I get so much luck in primetime games lol.

I'm having no luck this year picking winners whatsoever, dropped another game yesterday night that should have put me one game closer to the lead.
I'm still going with the Lions without Stafford, I have no confidence in the Redskins, their secondary is awful and Haskins is still finding his feet. There's always the chance Peterson and Guice will have big days but I tend to find that once the losing culture enters a team they go into games expecting to lose.
You may think I'm mad but I'm taking the Cowboys to walk into Foxborough and get the win against the Patriots. Prescott is on fire and Brady is in a slump, I was watching the hated Cowboys the other night and they have weapons all over the field. I was also watching the Minnesota vs. Denver and it looked to me more like the Vikings last minute goal line stance won the game for the Vikings and not Cousins who is getting all the credit. Until Kirk Cousins starts taking his team to the playoffs and winning games to me he is just a good regular season quarterback who puts up good stats each year in garbage time football. The guy chokes badly when he need to make a clutch throw when time is running out.
Dennis, did you read my post about Cousins' performance vs Denver? There were plenty of clutch throws/runs.
Generally with Cousins in the past, he would put a few good games together, and then have an awful game in which Washington or Minnesota would lose. But they've won 6 out of their last 7 games (the loss was by 3 points @ Kansas City), and Cousins' stats in the last 7 games are MVP-level.
Minnesota's goal-line defense shouldn't get credit. They gave away a blatant penalty on the last play of the game which should have been called. It would've put Denver 1 yard away from victory. After going down 20-0, Cousins orchestrated possessions of Punt, Touchdown, Touchdown, Touchdown, and Touchdown.

Yes Matt, I read your post, it was your post that made me watch the game. There was about six minutes left when the Vikings were in front. Cousins did well with the Touchdown throws to pull them back into the game but I have to give it to the Minnesota's defense holding their nerve in the final seconds to get the job done against Denver and not cousins. If Cousins had orchestrated the win in the final seconds of the game by marching up the field and scoring the go ahead Touchdown I would give him credit. Until he wins playoff games Cousins in my mind is overated regardless of what the stats say.
Indy wasn't robbed. Watson was called down originally, and even though the ball was moving before he actually was, the play wouldn't have been overturned because there wasn't a clear recovery since both Watson and the defender were grappling the ball.
That said, it was a very ugly game. Extremely hard to watch those two ball clubs. Both need to get their acts together because their schedules each contain a few tough opponents. Texans starting with the Pats next week.
Dennis - We will see. Minnesota are definitely going to the playoffs as a wildcard team (they can't catch Green Bay), and they will play Dallas if they finish with the #5 seed, and Seattle if they are the #6 seed. They've already won @ Dallas, so they can potentially do it again. Winning @ Seattle will be extremely tough though.
At this stage, I feel that these will be the playoff standings:
1 - New England 2 - Baltimore 3 - Kansas City 4 - Houston 5 - Buffalo (totally undeserved) 6 - Indy So close yet so far - Oakland
1 - Green Bay 2 - New Orleans 3 - Seattle 4 - Dallas 5 - San Francisco 6 - Minnesota So close yet so far - LA Rams

Only picked Eagles because I thought they had to win since Cowboys have the tiebreaker over them for their win against them earlier in the year. Apparently, that isn't the case. Someone said if they win against the Cowboys in Week 16 and they finish with the same record, the Eagles get in. Haven't confirmed that, but I would've went with the Seahawks had I known. Oh well.
That said, I think Eagles would've won if they didn't have, yes, five turnovers. But since you don't deserve to win with five turnovers, they obviously deserved to lose.
Glad my gut feeling with the Jets came through, especially since it means I split with Matt through the early games. But I still have a few upsets to come. Go big or go home at this point.
Well, my Jaguars Upset is officially in the toilet. They kept it close for the first half, but now they've given up two quick touchdowns to the Titans to start the 3rd Quarter. And Foles is looking like Foles outside of Philly. Really thought the Jags would've tried harder after being murdered last week.
Good work to the both of you picking the NY Jets upset. I was tempted to do it, but thought I should be sensible and pick the in-form Oakland. Warrior, unlucky with Philly and Jacksonville. I knew you were going to tip upsets, and when I saw the scores without knowing who you had tipped, I was sure you went with Washington and NY Jets. And I was sort of right. Dennis, that was a very good response after the Indy game. It'll be interesting, as Warrior and I went with the Green Bay upset in SNF.
Atlanta are dreadful. How, after keeping opposition teams to zero TDs in 10 consecutive quarters, do you let, at your home stadium, Jamieis Winston put up 35 points on you? Miami got destroyed 24-41. Ouch. Kale Ballage has the worst stats I have ever seen from a RB. Washington got a scrappy 19-16 win thanks to their defense playing extremely well. Tannessee continues, with him scoring 2TDs and 2 rushing TDs to be the reincarnation of Lamar Jackson...lol. New England do the usual.
Oh my. San Fransisco's defense. Green Bay's drives so far have been 2 yards & fumble, 6 yards & punt, 1 yard & punt, and 7 yards & punt. 10-0 to San Francisco. But don't be surprised if Green Bay dog their way to a win like they did last time these 2 teams played.

We get it Matt, you won. We don't need the score updates. We know we're losers. jk XD XD XD
Looks like Dennis and I after gonna battle for first loser. lol
Could tomorrow night start that? We'll see. ;)
Packers got murdered. They clearly aren't going to be able to go all the way. When they get punched in the mouth, they can't counter punch at all. Chargers and 49ers prove this.
I don't think the 49ers are going to be able to go all the way either. You can't constantly play to the level of your competition. They murder the big boys but struggle against the crud. Playoffs chew those type of teams up and spit them out.
At this point, I think the Pats and Saints will be going to the Super Bowl. That can obviously change, but I don't see anyone testing that Pats Defense in Foxborough in January. Maybe the Chiefs, but their Defense is so dreadful that they literally have to blitz every single down.
Overall, I hate this season. Makes me love watching college football all the more. To the NFL: Mediocrity is not parody; ugly games are not competitive games. So hard to watch this stuff. Makes me miss last season. The games were better, the teams as a whole were better, our picking was fierce and didn't rely upon which teams wanting to lose more. I can't wait until next season so we can wash away the scent of this one. XD XD XD
The NFC is crazy, especially the NFC North. The winner probably gets the #2 seed, and the loser the #6 seed.
New Orleans made the divisional round, then the next year made the conference game, and this year will make the SB.
Tennessee have an elite (yes I said elite) running game, a capable defense, and a revitalised Tannehill. They can make playoffs I believe. I mean, the fact that Pittsburgh are currently in the playoffs, yet are one of the worst offensive teams in the league, is a disgrace.
For once, I will be looking forward to the playoffs.

How the hell did the Patriots beat Dallas? Just looked at Brady's stats and they are awful. 17 out of 37 for 190 yards and 1 Touchdown. That's a lot of uncaught balls. I though without Mohamed Sanu playing and no vertical deep threat it would be an easy game for the Cowboys who have weapons all over the field. Prescott's stats were slightly worse then Brady's, Cooper didn't turn up and Elliot couldn't break 100 yards. That Patriot defense must be something else at Foxborough, I don't see anyone in the AFC beating them there in the playoffs. The Gillette Stadium is a burial ground for opposing NFL teams during the month of January. I honestly think the all the AFC teams crap their jocks at the thought of playing a playoff game there, the Patriots record there intimidates them before the kickoff.
Redskins get a win, how annoying, I hope they don't play themselves out of the Chase Young stakes and he goes to the Giants who end up having another Lawrence Taylor the Redskins have to contend with twice a year. Had a feeling the Jets defense would stuff the Raiders, the Jets have now scored more than 30 points in their last three games, Darnold is starting to look good. 49rs are looking good, especially on defense, and the Saints were lucky with their win over Carolina.
I've managed to pull one game back on Matt and two on Warrior13, the problem is, I may be able to sneak out a second team by playing conservatively or I can roll the dice and go all in and try and catch Matt with upsets. Since second place is the first loser it looks like I'll have to do the latter of the two.
Matt: I don?t see the Vikings going that far, but everything else I basically agree with. Don?t know why you would be excited for a playoff season you already have mapped out. XD
Dennis: I think that makes Miami with the #2 pick now, thanks to Washington winning. We need Young. The QBs aren?t worth it this year.
EDIT - You posted while I was posting Warrior. I'm not sold on Minnesota in playoffs either, but I had the strength of home-field advantage as the deciding factor. Also, NY Giants are somehow the #2 draft pick.
Dennis - Hang on? You thought it would be an easy game for Dallas? Ok. That matches with your view during the week that Dallas would pull off the road win. But it doesn't explain why you tipped New England. I'm guessing you weren't brave enough to tip against NE twice in a row?
Brady is having a poor year. And I mean it. His stats are pretty average. This is the moment we had been waiting for. However, conveniently the moment Brady declines, New England build by far the best defense in the competition and continue their dynasty through defense. Fantastic...
- Brady's completion percentage of 62.2% is his worst since 2013 - His yards per play of 6.7 is his worst since 2002 - His passer rating of 88.5 is his worst since 2013 - He is on track for 22TDs in the regular season, his lowest total since 2001 - Excluding a good first 3 games of the season, his TD:INT ratio since is just 8TDs and 5INTs in 8 games
That win (loss) hurts for Washington as you say. They are now down to receiving the 4th overall pick, putting NY Giants (2) and Miami (3) back ahead. NY Giants need o-line help and Miami need a franchise QB, so there's still some hope, as long as both teams don't pull any surprises. Getting that 2nd win helps save the team from embarrassment in the record books, but Washington cannot afford another win.
6 games is achievable for you and Warrior, even if I tip conservatively. I guess you need to figure out how soon you want to start tipping the upsets. You could remain conservative, staying in touch, and in Week 16 try and be brave in the hope that you close the gap slightly and put pressure on me ahead of Week 17. Or you could just go all out with wild picks now and hope that next week features a lot of upsets.
Remember, you just have to tie with me in order for tipping to continue into the playoffs. Also, if you and Warrior are tied in 2nd place at the end of Week 17, you will both continue into playoffs in order to decide 2nd place.

Miami still have to face the Giants, and if they can take care of defeating us, we should have a good chance at #2. Gonna be hard though since we have the Bengals coming up as well. We'll either have to lose to them as well, or hope that the Redskins can squeeze out one more win. If the Giants beat us and the Redskins can win one more, us beating the Bengals will still see us at #2, I believe.
I guess Haskins wants Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia in the draft to replace Trent Williams. It is the sensible pick for Washington as it also opens up the running lanes for Guice and Peterson but me personally I would go for the best player on the board regardless of position and that's Chase Young.
Not sure what Miami are going to do, if I were them I'd wait another year get Trevor Lawrence and use this years drafts to give him some weapons. Plenty of people are saying that the Dolphins will opt for Jalen Hurts because they can't wait another year. Justin Herbert is also being mentioned as a possible option, Tua's injury is going to make him drop, I just hope it's not into the arms of the Patriots.
I agree, Dennis. Miami should wait a year since Lawrence is the best QB in the next two drafts combined. I think Miami, assuming they?re #2, should draft Young. Then trade our other two first rounders to climb up and draft Epenesa. That would give us the next 49ers Defensive Line.
From there, Miami should draft weapons for our next QB with our second rounders and third rounders. Perhaps pick up a Nathan Stanley or that Stanford QB in middle rpunds so we can ditch Fitzpatrick.
We can easily fix our Offensive Line in free agency with all the money we have.
Whoops. Baltimore currently leading 21-3, away from home, against LA Rams. I know you tipped them out of desperation Warrior, and while you probably are kicking yourself now, worry not. In a certain famous game, one team was leading 21-3 at HT, and quickly made it 28-3 in the 2nd half. That team was playing on neutral turf, not away from home like Baltimore are.
Jk. This is going to be a ROUT. The Baltimore passing game, as scarcely as it is being used, is efficient, and the running game features 3 dangerous rushers is flying right now. Meanwhile the LA Ram defense is disgraceful.
About Miami's situation, while I think o-line is the most important position, Young is too good to pass up. We should draft him if we can, and if not draft the good OT (forgot his name). And we shouldn't even draft a QB. We can give Rosen a decent o-line and some decent players around him. If he turns out to be a good QB, then we won't even need to draft Lawrence. Sadly I predict if Miami don't draft a QB this draft, they will bring Fitz back like they did with Cutler, which will only waste another year.

I never trust teams that should be more motivated than the other. I've been that way even outside of this season, and in other sports. They more often than not, just flop and get thrashed.
28-6 HT. Baltimore have gone Touchdown, Touchdown, Touchdown, and Touchdown on their 4 drives. Good job LA Rams D.
