You guys wanna build mock drafts and compete to see who get the most correct for the first round of the draft? Of course, we'll have until the end of April to submit our final picks.
It will probably change next season, bu at this stage, Derrick Henry is the best RB in the league. The others like CMC and Barkley etc may be better all round players, but in solely the RB position, Henry is currently the best RB. He carved up New England AND Baltimore (who previously had a good rush D). Plus he won the rushing title for the regular season.
That's a good idea. Not that I'll be very good, especially after pick 20, but it's worth a shot. I think this will be where you stop me from the 3-0 clean sweep.

I'm up for the mock draft competition. There's no point submitting it though until a few days before the event. How do you win, is it a case of the person with the most correct picks in their submission wins?.
Derrick Henry without doubt in my mind is currently the best pure Fullback in the league. If you are talking halfback or single back who has versatility then it has to be Barkley who unfortunately is playing for a poor team otherwise his numbers would be better then McCaffery's.
Dennis - I'm guessing (based on how Warrior graded himself last time) that each time you correctly pick a player in the correct draft position, you earn 1 point. For example if I predicted Tua to be drafted at pick 5, and it happens, I would get 1 point. But I do wonder whether it counts if you guess the correct position, but the wrong team (eg LA Chargers trade up to pick 5).
And I agree with Warrior's suggestion that we do only the first round. It would get too hard to go further.
Warrior - I thrashed you this season in regular season tipping, and now hold a 3-game lead + margin in playoffs tipping. Listen to your new Football Master please

Sounds goood to me Matt, why don't we each submit a mock draft at the end of January, Febraury, March, and April and if we get a point each time we get the team and player correct (gets confusing otherwise) when the draft has completed. So for example if you think Joe Burrow is going to the Bengals and you have him down as the number 1 pick in all four of your mock drafts you pick up 4pts. Just makes it a bit more fun when it comes to checking the scores at the end.
Matt, you are definately the undisputed SuperCheats NFL tipping king this year.
When I first read your idea I instantly thought no because it seemed confusing, but on reflection it makes perfect sense. That way it rewards someone if lets say they make a bold prediction in February when it comes to a certain player, and by April that player has risen in the draft stock.
Dates of Jan 30, Feb 29, Mar 31, and Apr 18 (one week before the draft) sound good, if you and Warrior all agree (I agree).
I will make a thread at some stage specifically designed for posting our mock drafts, and for that purpose only. Make sure when it comes to Jan 30, label your mock draft as the January one. And if someone is a few days late for the Jan, Feb, and Mar drafts, it's fine. The April one will have to be on time, seeing as a few days makes a big difference at that stage.

Lets give 1 Point if you guess the correct team OR the correct slot. For hypothetical reasons, say Dennis has Chase Young going #2 to the Redskins. If Chase Young goes #2, whether to the Redskins or another team if they trade down, Dennis would get a point. But if Redskins trade up to #1 to draft Young, he would still get a point. Makes it a little easier. Sounds good?
Oh, and no trades. It is already hard enough with some of these teams. XD
Matt: Key two words as Dennis said: ...this year... ;)
Excellent, I'm looking forward to this, it will help sustain my interest in the NFL during the off season. Just need to figure out a strategy that will net me the most points for the three months...
Warrior, as for next year, you'll have to settle for second or third place, I've got my eyes firmly fixed on becoming the SuperCheats NFL Tipping King. The title's just on loan to Matt for the next twelve months.
You ended up losing by 3 games + margin Dennis. Had you not made 2 mistakes of tipping the wrong team accidentally, that would've been just 1 game + margin. Next season we will have A) The reigning champion, B) The close contender, and C) The former champion who is seeking revenge.
Warrior, force Freez to join us next season please

I know one thing Matt, next year I will be double checking my tips before I submit them as I don't want to be playing catch-up again, it only adds pressure as you are forced into picking teams you are not whole heartedly convinced can win the game and you end up falling further behind when they lose. I now realise every correct pick is crucial.
Yeah. On the website, I have done AFL tipping for 4 seasons, and NFL tipping for 2 seasons. Never have I made a mistake in terms of tipping the wrong team. If you double check like I always do, you'll be fine.
