Looks like the Washington Redskins are about to be hit with a major scandal. Turns out the club pimped out its cheerleaders to its investors while photographing the calender for the team in Costa Rica in 2013. They took away the girls passports giving them no choice but to be escorts.

Ron Rivera has seen what has been happening and has had a complete clear out of staff. Top members of management have been sacked and shareholder owners suddenly want to sell their shares. Female staff are continually abused and nobody has said anything. Terrible, just what the club needs...

Dennis it is worse. Apparently Jay Gruden was in on it and would regularly sleep with the cheerleaders. But there was another Washington o-line player (forgot his name) who was sleeping with the same woman Gruden was. Apparently Gruden was ****** off, so he benched this player, and the player's replacement missed a key block the next week and Alex Smith's career was over thanks to being hit.

If these things are true, no wonder the Washington Redskins Organisation has been so inept for years.

On the season's start date, apparently there are talks to scrap the entire preseason. That is very dangerous. There has to be 1 week minimum of preseason. Players are going to get injured in Week 1 of the regular season if this happens. And to make matters worse, the NFL has created no guidelines as to how players will be quarantined/protected during the season. They've had at least 5 months to do so, and have some up with nothing apparently.

My idea of hubs surely has to be a possibility now, as unfair and difficult as it may be. There can't be 32 teams playing in 30 different cities with the current situation in the US. The NFL need to pick states with minimal active cases and move teams there as soon as possible. States like Oklahoma, Oregon, Kentucky, or Utah could be possibilities.

If the NFL get desperate, they could simply send each conference to a few close states and have each conference play each team in their conference once, for 15 games. The top 7 would advance to the usual playoffs, and then the Superbowl would be played at the venue it was supposed to be played at.

Matt, it was the running back Kapri Bibbs. Apparently Gruden would frequently indulge in getting his nose white as well as sleep with the cheerleaders, how comes nobody said anything, it's pretty obvious when someone is on drugs. Yes you are correct about the missed block, I saw a video on it yesterday on Youtube. What a nightmare, cover up after cover up...

My Way-To-Early 2021 Mock Draft. Order is based on Vegas Odds.

I don't know most of the prospects. Going based off of what I do know and what other mocks have thus far.

It's amazing how I've almost forgotten that the NFL is a sport. I had to sit and think to remember our team weaknesses...

If the season gets cancelled...

Had to remember weaknesses and positions of teams. I don't agree with the order right now, but I picked based off of it. Like if Washington ends up with #2 Overall, there is no doubt that they will draft the QB the Jags don't. Not sure how the Bears are projected middle of the road, but if they are and the Top 3 QBs are off the board, you have to go elsewhere. Very difficult. All I know is I got #1 Overall correct.

If there is no college football this year, it's going to be a messy draft. Imagine if coronavirus had come 12 months earlier? Joe Burrow would've been drafted in the 4th round, Tua would've been a Bengal right now, Herbert a Dolphin, and LA Chargers probably would've traded for an experienced QB. Then you would've had people who in reality slipped all the way to the 4th round, being drafted in the 1st, and therefore probably under-performing in their rookie season.

We should look to trade down as far as possible if the college season gets cancelled. We have so many picks for the draft, but we won't be able to use them as effectively. Bait a desperate team like Chicago into moving up for Fields, and get their 2022 first rounder + more.

The tricky situation with the draft is also whether the NFL season gets cancelled. If it does, how will players get assigned to teams? It would be unfair to repeat the draft picks and hence give the worse teams double the picks, but then even more unfair if it was a lottery. Imagine if New England were drawn Trevor Lawrence?

No NFL preseason, not sure how this is going to affect teams as it is during this period that teams try out players and plays to see if they will work in real NFL situations. Redskins will be playing as the 'Washington Football Team', their uniform is still the same burgandy and gold with the players number on the helmet replacing the indian logo. I see the new favourite name is 'DC Sentinels', not sure if I like that, have to see what the logo looks like.

Warrior - What are your thoughts with my hubs idea? Personally I think it's the best way to reduce exposure to the virus and thus get to the playoffs. Australia's state of Victoria is having a 2nd wave, so AFL teams have moved to hubs, and the season is still going strong.

Dennis - Was about to inform you of that news. That is a joke by Washington. Their nickname is 'Football Team'. Think of week 1. It will be the Eagles vs the Football Team. Literally. They better hurry up and get a new name.

On possible names, I've found that Redwolves is the preferred team name from Washington fans, by a massive margin. There have been several polls online with Redwolves as 1 of 4 options and thousands of people having voted, and in all of them Redwolves got at least 75% of the votes. There is also a logo being spread around. I would prefer a wolf head to be inside the circle rather than a capital R, but at least this one is good because it has similarities to the Redskins logo:

Also something to note is the Hail to the Redskins (or HTTR in short) phrase that is very common among Washington fans. If HTTR is to continue, Washington will need to have their nickname beginning with R. That to me says that Redwolves, Redtails, Redhawks, and Renegades are the most likely possibilities.

Baseball is back with no bubble and no fans. Basketball is back in bubble and no fans. Football can easily happen with no fans. Football can happen with fans, but masks must be mandatory (just to please the paranoid hypochondriacs) and it must be at their own risk. It's a flu with like a 0.1% Fatality in anyone younger than 25 and only like a 1% in 35 or younger. The yearly flu is far worse. Give me football or give me death.

In lighter news... I called my friend in DC and said "Hey, I heard you have a Football Team..." XD

That sounds plausible if it stays with no fans. I didn't think it would be possible seeing as US leagues have so many teams, but if it's working in other sports then it's worth a go. Fans definitely cannot attend though. It's far too risky. The issue is that people under 35 can still easily contract the virus, and then unknowingly spread it to an older person.

The NFL is expected to make a decision about cancelling the entire preseason tomorrow. My hunch is that they will cancel it.

Meanwhile:
Seattle have acquired Jamal Adams and a 2022 4th round pick
NY Jets have acquired Bradley McDougald, 2021 1st round & 3rd round picks, as well as a 2022 1st rounder

Is it me, or is that a stupid decision by Seattle? Jamal Adams is a very good player, but is he worth two 1st round picks and a player? This means Seattle are in win-now mode, and if they don't get a SB in the next 2 years, they're in trouble.

I can live with the name Washington Redwolves and the logo Matt kindly posted above. I still prefer the indian to be honest but that is gone. I think the logo would be better if it was just a snarling wolf than a big R.

The closer we get to the NFL season the less likely I can see it happening, we've already lost preseason, the next step will be to delay the start until October. If that happens you can be sure the season will be abandoned because the US is still gripped with Covid-19. There would be no other option because of the TV contracts stipulating when the NFL can be aired.

Seattle aren't winning the Super Bowl any time soon. I personally think Russell Wilson is overated. The 49rs are a better team as is the Eagles when they get their act together. Besides all routes to the Super Bowl for an NFC team goes through Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

Matt: The Seahawks must think it was worth it because they usually pick late each year in the draft and Adams is arguably the best safety in the league. But I love the trade for the Jets. First off, they got so much. Secondly, if Wilson ever gets hurt, they will cash in big. I know Wilson has never missed a game, but the chances of injury are high when the Seahawks refuse to address their offensive line issues.

Dennis: Why mention the Eagles? They aren?t doing anything this year. No way they beat Dallas for the division. Shoot, if Daniel Jones has a good year, they might even finish third behind the Giants. The Eagles aren?t the same team from a few years back.

Dennis - With America's handling of the pandemic, I would say that they will try and get through the season at any cost. Warrior says basketball and baseball have restarted, and the US Open is also going ahead soon. The implications with the draft would be too extreme. One of 3 options happens:
a) All college players have to wait a year before entering the draft
b) The draft positions from 2019/20 will be used again for the 2021 draft, meaning low finishing teams get double the picks essentially
c) The draft is a lottery where any player randomly is selected by a team, meaning a strong team may get access to Trevor Lawrence

Warrior - Agreed. NY Jets get two 1st round picks, a player, and get rid of a locker room cancer who didn't want to play for the team at all. It's very similar to Jacksonville getting rid of Jalen Ramsey and getting two 1st rounders. And look at what happened to LA Rams soon after that, when they desperately needed draft picks.

At least this season it hurts NY Jets in the short term and their delusional fans will have to go another year without the playoff place they believe they deserve Cool

I wouldn't say this year is lost for the Jets. I don't think they will win the division, but they did go 7-5 after Darnold returned last year from mono. Not the best, but far from the worst. If Becton works out, that will help relieve Darnold of his ghosts. If Mims isn't just a combine freak, Darnold will also have a nice weapon. SOS hurts them this year though.

I'm just glad the Jets aren't getting any compensatory picks. They already have ten picks: 2-1sts, 1-2nd, 2-3rds, 1-4th, 2-5ths, 1-6th & 1-7th. They have a decent roster already, and that many picks alone could take them over the top (not to mention having two 1sts in 2022). If Darnold works out and they can hit on those picks, the Jets could easy compete for the AFC East (which could be loaded soon enough) year after year.

The NFL and NCAA just need to buck up and get through this year. You can't lose a year of football, especially at the college level. Just plow through. If no fans, then no fans. But I still think fans are possible if the stadiums are at 1/3 capacity (two seats between fans is at least six feet) and all of them are wearing masks.

I see a lot of top players are deciding to skip this season. That to me has ruined the season before it has even started. Whichever team wins the Super Bowl this year will forever have an asterisk beside them as teams didn't field their best teams.

At the moment there aren't too many, but that number could rise. Not to mention if an active player gets coronavirus, they won't be able to play for a minimum of 2 games while they isolate.

On the other hand, it will be an opportunity to see some fringe players who wouldn't normally start games.

If it goes ahead, this NFL season will simply be about getting through it. There may be some key players out and there will be a lack of atmosphere at games, but there will still be division titles and 14 playoff places. I don't think the winners of the SB will complain, even if it has an asterisk.

An empty Superbowl would be a shame, but it may happen if a vaccine isn't available by January. Imagine if the Superbowl is Buffalo v Minnesota and the fans miss the opportunity to see their team win their first SB in person. The team I support in soccer is just a draw away from playing in an empty Wembley Stadium for a promotion playoff final too.

Yes Matt, I didn't think of it like that. It will be an opportunity for players that are on the depth charts of teams to play, especially those behind established superstars. There will probably be one or two players who at the end of the season will regret not playing if their backup shines.

Bryce Love of the Washington Redskins will be one of those sleeper players. He is now healthy. Love and Guice will be the best backfield in the NFL when they eventually play together.

Bryce Love was one of the nation's best running backs in 2017 with over 2,000 rushing yards thanks to excellent patience and good burst. Not many running backs get over 2,000 yards in a season in college.

Dennis: Have you seen the players opting out? lol Most of them are just lazy sacks of s***. One or two have legitimate health issues, but the rest are just bums looking for an excuse not to work. Besides, basically all but two players that have decide not to play actually have talent. None of the players that are opting out thus far will have any impact upon this season, so, no, the winner of the Super Bowl will not have any asterisk taking away from the accomplishment. Additionally, if I was in charge of any of these teams with these unmotivated players, I would cut them the second the season ends.

Matt: Yes, just make it through this year. How pathetic is that over a flu? lol But, unfortunately with these radical extremists, it's true. We're talking about some of the best athletes in the world, 99% of which are in better shape and health than normal people. The risk for these people is extremely low, but, no, the media doesn't include that into the equation. The public needs facts, not panic. Anyone under 25 has a 99.9% survival rate, anyone under 35 has a 99% survive rate. I'm sorry, but that's no pandemic. It's a flippin flu that is more serious towards the elderly and those with medical conditions, just like the seasonal flu. People need to stop trying to take my football away from me.

IN REAL NEWS... Joey Bosa signed a five year mega deal for 135 million, 80 million of which he go when he signed his name on the dotted line. He's not as good as his younger brother, but he's a force to be reckoned with. Imagine if the two were on the same team.
