Well, the NFL couldn't have asked for a better opening game. If the ref had decided to call that last big catch offensive pass interference that's probably a Cowboys W.

Brady has got to be angry at his RB team, costly interception and fumble. Godwin also looked a little shaky. Otherwise an almost perfect game for Brady if we discount the halftime hail mary interception.

Dak looked great, no sign of injury there. Cowboys fans have to be happy. That offense is going to be a major problem.

Defense on both sides needs a little tightening up, but I'm fine with putting most of it down to rust and testing the waters with the refs. Every year they change how much these guys can get away with and it'll take a few games to settle down.

Matt: The Bucs defense wasn't all that bad. The Cowboys O-Line is pretty much healthy, so we all knew they would be able to protect Dak. I felt going into the draft that the Bucs should draft a CB at #32, but they went D-Line instead (which was their second biggest need for depth). Their secondary isn't bad, but it's far from the top. Just out of balance last night since the pass rush couldn't really get to Dak, but they will tighten that up.

Mike: Yeah, Fornette has to learn how to catch and Jones has to learn to keep better hold of the ball. You can't count any of the Brady INTs since they were out of his control. I'm a little concerned about Dak since he didn't really have to let it rip deep. He looked good in the short and intermediate game, but the couple of long balls look a little shaky. Something to watch moving forward. Entertaining game, yes, but you have to expect as much with over 100 Pass Attempts and only one sack.

I just read that Watt rebuffed his agent's desire to hold out longer for money. That tells you a lot about the guy. You've got a winner, Mike.

And on a much more sarcastic note, the Pittsburgh Steelers are forever in debt to the Phins for passing on TJ. :P XD

Yeah, he probably could've gotten a little more but he's still being paid handsomely. And 80M guaranteed I read, making it essentially a 3 year deal which also goes against Steelers tradition of not guaranteeing money post year 1. If any player had to get it I'm glad it's TJ, and his and Fitzpatricks contracts should match up well with our timeline. A bunch of dead money comes off the books after this year, and hopefully Ben will retire. Nobody else really needs to get paid yet, besides JuJu Smith-Schuster, and they might let him walk if he can't produce this year. WRs are a dime a dozen for the Steelers the past couple decades.

Yeah, the Dolphins, and the Packers, and the Cowboys and a bunch of other teams. Watt was pick 30 in that draft, and the Packers had 29 and traded down to 33 to take Kevin King when Watt was a position of need for them. The Cowboys took Taco Charlton at 28, lol.

Miami should have taken him. But no, draft another Missouri Tiger player that ended up being a bust.

I would never draft a Mizzou player. All have been busts in recent memory.

Yeah, wow. That's a rough list. Sheldon Richardson has probably had the best career of the active players and he's nothing special. Chase Daniel has stuck around as the money per pass thrown king.

Gabbert was a huge bust after going 10th. The Edge Miami drafted over Watt was a bust. Literally bust after bust. Stay far away from those Mizzou players.

Surely you aren't calling Super Bowl champion Blaine Gabbert a bust?

TJ Watt was in the 2017 draft, the one that everybody said had no decent quarterbacks and the Bears traded up for Trubishky which surprised everyone. Turns out there were two elite quarterback in that draft - Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. If you are a Chicago fan that draft must haunt you.

Washington picked Jonathan Allen so I can't complain. TJ Watt would have been a good addition though. It will be interesting to see what the Steelers do next year if Rothesburger fades badly like he did last season. Mason and Haskins are not the answer if Pittsburgh hope to win another Super Bowl. I can't see where their quarterback of the future is going to come from to be honest as the Steelers are still good enough to reach the playoffs this year.

Perhaps like the 2017 there are a couple of elite quarterbacks in the 2021 draft that are waiting to be discovered. The Pittsburgh Steelers need to pick one up if there is otherwise they face the risk of becoming a mediocre team.

Maybe the GOAT of Busts. lol

It's being reported that the Texans want a combination of six superstar players / draft picks. Crazy.

Of course the Texans are pounding the Jags. I was telling some of my family members all week that was the game I was struggling win. Texans are crud, but they have a lot of veterans.

Man, Titans are getting rocked rn by the Cards.

Wow, some great games. Was not expecting that showing from the Texans. Mixed reactions from Lawrence. He made some bad throws that he might've gotten away with in college. Welcome to the NFL.

49ers dominated the Lions, despite the Lions making it interesting in garbage time.

Nice game for the Steelers over the Bills, I almost picked Steelers to win but expected more from the Bills offense with the Steelers kinda weak defensive backs. Great game for the Steelers defense and special teams though, with a blocked punt for a TD.

Jalen Hurts looked pretty strong for the Eagles. The Falcons aren't a great defense but that's promising for them.

Sam Darnold looked pretty good for Carolina, Zach Wilson started very poor but turned it around and made it a game.

Dolphin/Pats has just started and Tua just ran in for a TD. Nice start.

Texans surprised me, didn?t expect them to win that game let alone put up all those points. Herbert is looking like the next Dan Marino, he carved up the Washington secondary for nearly 400 yards. Steelers winning also surprised me, I was expecting the Bills to dominate that game, Steelers still have a great defense. 49rs are looking good and Sam Darnold must be happy with his two TD?s and a win against his former club, the Jets. Week one is always so unpredictable, I?ll probably end up getting 7-8 games wrong straight off the bat.

Falcons were very disappointing. Titans as well. Eagles and Cards are not that great on defense, but those two teams could not do anything against them.

My gut said go with Texans, but I drank the Lawrence koolaid.
