Well the Steelers look terrible. I was very close to picking the Bengals with Tuitt and Watt hurt and Ben looking pretty bad these first two games. Guess I should've went with my gut.
Some pretty uneventful games so far. I expected New England to play better against NO.
My dad kept telling me to pick the Bengals. I could not see the Steelers losing back to back at home. But they did. Ouch.
My brother is undefeated thus far this week. Not sure how. lol
Giants are done. I just looked at their schedule, and one could argue they are going winless. Daniel Jones era is likely over. Not all on him, but no way he bounces back enough to get another shot.
My Atlanta upset (???) pick paid off (was not an upset imo). But my bold prediction of Minnesota winning paid off. They arguably should be 3-0 right now. They lost in overtime to Cincy, and choked horribly vs undefeated Arizona. Warrior's New Orleans upset pick paid off too.
Mike and I went with Green Bay, and Warrior & Dennis went San Francisco. Green Bay were leading 17-0, but it's back to 17-14.
NY Giants choked again. They lead 14-7 at 3QT, conceded a TD, punted, and conceded a FG. They had the ball once in the entire quarter.
Kansas City lost again! Mahomes threw 2INTs, including one with scored tied at 24-24.
Pittsburgh are done. Losing at home to their pigion Cincy by 14pts is unforgivable.
Justin Tucker kicked a game-winning 66-yard FG (longest FG in NFL history). Baltimore had 4th & 19 @ BAL 19 with 36 seconds to go, trailing 16-17. Lamar completed a 36-yard pass, spiked the ball, and the rest is history.
Trevor Lawrence had another poor game. His season stats in 3 games are 223 yards per game, 5.7 yards per play, 54% completion, 5TDs, 7INTs, 2 lost fumbles, 60.3 passer rating
NY Jets got shutout by the mediocre Broncos. Zach Wilson's season stats in 3 games are 209 yards per game, 6 yards per play, 55% completion, 2TDs, 7INTs, 0 lost fumbles, 51.6 passer rating
LA Rams dominated Tampa Bay. It was 34-17 before garbage time, and they were always in control. No surprise to see Stafford playing very well now that he's not playing for a poverty franchise.
Seattle fell apart again. They led 17-7, and then were outscored 0-23 for the rest of the game.
Miami lost a heartbreaker in overtime. And of course I just had to wake up right in time for overtime, just so I could see the loss. It was a crazy game: - Miami led 14-0 early - Las Vegas scored 25 consecutive points to lead 25-14 - Miami tied the game at 25-25 - Las Vegas kick a FG in OT to lead 28-15, meaning Miami must score on the next drive - Miami complete a 27-yard pass on 4th & 20 @ MIA 15 - Will Fuller drops a game-winning TD for Miami - Miami choose to kick the FG with just a few mins left - Las Vegas complete a 34-yard pass on 2nd & 15 - Las Vegas kick the game-winning FG

Nice upsets with the Vikings and Falcons, Matt. I did not see either of those coming after the Giants and Seahawks lost in the way they did last week. Wow.
Aaron Rodgers greased for the win. I knew it was going to happen when the Niners FB scored with forty seconds left instead of sitting down at the one. What could have been a good week for me turn into an okay one. Chiefs played their worst game of the year, Seahawks crumbled, Giants choked, Rams surprised, Packers greased, Steelers look like back half of last year.
Houston is reportedly willing to take less for Watson. If Tua doesn't do well after returning, I think the Dolphins might pull the trigger before the deadline. One would have to think that if a deal were to get done, the draft picks involved would be protected.
You would also have to think Miami would look for a three team trade that includes unloading Tua somewhere. Unfortunately, not many QB openings at the moment. Pittsburgh makes sense since he could backup Big Ben for this year; Steelers also usually do well enough to not be able to get a Top QB. Texans don't want him--clearly going to go after a Rookie--so that won't be happening. Redskins also make sense since Tua would have a good O-Line there and weapons, plus they are in a weak division. But that's about it if you actually think about it. I believe the Dolphins would want at least a 1st for Tua considering he's only in Year 2/5 of a cheap contract.
If Watson can make the legal stuff go away, it makes sense. It would make even more sense if they can get a 1st for Tua and possibly even another 1st for Howard. Sort of would balance things out. But, again, if Watson can't play, it's useless.
Mike - I didn't even know Cook was out. Thankfully I didn't, cause if I did I would've changed to Seattle.
Warrior - Atlanta was the obvious pick for me. Firstly, NY Giants are mediocre chokers. Secondly, the Atlanta team is better on paper.
If we trade for Watson, it will be a disaster. The o-line will stay poor, and we will need to desperately upgrade it. Except we would have zero draft capital. Tua has had 1 game this season to prove himself. And in that game, he lead us to a win, and his INT was fumbled by a Miami WR.

I agree to stick with Tua, but the owner wants Watson. Pretty sad situation for him. Owner Ross wants Watson, Flores reported to originally have wanted to draft Herbert, GM Grier wanted Tua.
I say keep Tua but trade Howard at the deadline. So many teams are depleted at CB, and Miami could cash in big, perhaps even get that two 1st pricetag that they want for him. Chiefs have no one at CB, Bucs have no one at CB, Cardinals and Seahawks are extremely weak at CB. Miami is deep at the position and could pay his salary for this year to help the team we trade with. Maybe get a 2022 1st and 2024 1st for him, that would give them two 1sts in the next three drafts. They would be late 1sts, but better than nothing when you know Howard is going to want more money at the end of the year.
Mentally have made my picks. I think a few are upsets but I will not know until I enter them. Most were either obvious or guts picks, one was especially tough for me.
Well done Matt, a couple of good calls, if you can pull winners like that out of the hat each week you?ll have this competition sewn up by the midway point of the season.
The writings on the wall, if DeShaun Watson does not go to jail he will be playing for the Dolphins. It?s no longer a case of ?if? but ?when?. Tua is just not wanted at Miami, he has been treated abysmally, I actually feel sorry for him. I hope he goes to another club and becomes successful.
Pittsburgh have unraveled quicker than I thought, the Steelers are already talking about benching Rothesburger.
Could Burrow to Chase e the next Montana to Rice.
Washington?s defense is 31 in the NFL, what has gone wrong, I can?t figure it out. Chase Young has been found out, he only has one move, the bull rush. Someone needs to teach him some new moves. If the offensive lineman knows what?s coming he can easily stop him, especially at the pro level. Young has 0 sacks to his name.
I don't think Pitt will bench Ben, but he really hasn't looked great. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable Rudolph/Haskins tandem we will 100% be rolling with next year.
I'd be open to a trade for Tua but maybe not for a first when we are probably looking at a top 10-15 pick and Tua hasn't shown much yet. A trade there probably isn't happening.
Some tough games this week. Haven't made my picks yet but I can see myself picking a few upsets. Not really sure if Detroit are truly underdogs against Chicago, and Denver are favored against Baltimore? I'm sure that one will change.
Yeah, I'm not sure the Steelers would send their 1st this year for Tua. What about a 2023 or 2024 1st for Tua from the Steelers? I think he's a much better option than guys like Rudolph, Haskins, and Hienecke. Again, would only happen after a Watson trade, and that would have to have protected picks. That's more of an NBA thing, but clearly extenuating circumstances.
Lions/Bears was the one I struggled with the most. I had a gut feeling, but I did a little research (only to come back to my gut feeling lol). Ravens/Broncos is definitely another toss up. Broncos record is the weakest of all the undefeated teams since their opponents are a combined 0-9, but the Ravens haven't looked so good this year. Honestly, they would be 0-3 if not two late turnovers by the Chiefs and probably the luckiest kick of all time against the winless Lions.
I'd say the 2023 and maybe 2024 first round picks are more important to the Steelers than 2022. If they decide they don't want a QB in this draft and go with Haskins/Rudolph/cheap bridge QB the 2022 will essentially be a "tank" year (as much as the Steelers ever will) and they'll want a top pick to take a QB in 2023, and will likely be bad in 2023 and want a top pick in 2024. I would be happier going with Heinecke or Minshew next year if we are trying to win if one of them could be had for a 4th/5th rounder.
I cannot see the Steelers tanking under Tomlin. I think it is far more likely that they trade for a QB, either an established vet or a highly touted prospect. I could see a scenario where Tua stays a Dolphins until the end of the year, Watson working his legal stuff out, Dolphins trading for him before the draft, Steelers having a mid-first and trading for Tua after all the QBs are selected before their pick. The same with the Redskins, but that is a little different since they currently have a higher pick.
Mhm, maybe. I'd much rather them take an offensive lineman with their 1st pick this year and a QB next year, a top QB will be basically useless without a stronger oline (see: all rookie QBs this year) and would help Najee Harris get going. Oline and CB are our real positions of need, and we haven't drafted a starting caliber CB since William Gay in 2007, and he never even made a Pro Bowl. Before him you have to go all the way back to 03 with Ike Taylor. I'm not sure the last time they've actually drafted a Pro Bowl corner.
A free agent stopgap like Bridgewater, Tyrod, Mariota, Brissett, etc will likely be the answer next year if we don't go with Rudolph. There's no shortage of guys that'll be available for 1 year, 3-6M to win 4-7 games for them and put us into position to draft or trade up for a guy.
A big 5 upsets for me this week, subject to change of course.

There seems to be one major OT at this point, and most that I have seen has him going Top 10. There is a highly touted G and C, and they could be around the teens just based on position. I am not so sure about waiting for the 2023 Draft for a QB now. The Clemson and Ohio State kids have struggled horribly this year; they might not pan out. Not sure when the new Bama QB will be eligible, but he is a five star recruit and slinging it like no tomorrow thus far.
Yahoo says I only have one upset. I do not think that is right, but I am mostly comfortable at this point. A couple of toss ups, but that is usual.
I wish that website we use wouldn't publish the percentages of what people think down as I find it influences my picks too much. When you see a stat that says 96% of the public think a team is going to win I find it hard to pick the other team as I think 96% of people can't be wrong and it's the logical choice.
Dennis - When I make my picks I make an effort not to look st the percentages. They influence me too, and often after making my picks I look at the percentages and am surprised.
Warrior - Are we really deep at CB? In the past fortnight we have conceded 35 and 31 points. If we trade Howard, that's one of few, if not the only elite player we have on the team. Given we would probably get a 1st round pick, and Grier's drafting track record, I wouldn't be optimistic.
Detroit vs Chicago was a tough one. I will not say who I tipped, but it's probably a genuine 50/50. Detroit are playing better, but Chicago have the better team.
