I have no idea how the Packers won, and I am even more dumbfounded how Matt and Dennis picked it. In what world do the Packers upset the Cardinals on the road during a short week and minus three of their top four WRs, two of their top three CBs, and their all pro LT?
Sorry, Mike, but I probably cursed you by picking the same based on my last couple of weeks.
Per reports, the Panthers still have interest in Watson. They are to to be willing to give up three high picks (not definite if that means 1sts) plus McCaffery. Houston is said to want some of their young defense players over McCaffery.
I think I've pulled one game on you so far this week steelersrock01 but Matt has gone for the same as me so I've picked up no ground against him. Warrior13 has lost more ground unfortunately and risks falling behind the pack.
These upsets are difficult to predict, how the hell did the Saints beat the Bucs, When you compare the stats it makes you scratch your head. Brady threw for 375 yards and 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions. The two Saints quarterbacks did nothing of note between them. How did the Jets beat Cincinnati? I guess they're still the bungles.
It was certainly Halloween for most NFL gamblers yesterday, they must of had a nightmare. No way you could predict some of those results.
To me the most shocking result was the Bengals going down to the Jets closely followed by the Chargers going down to the Patriots. Mind you I never saw the Bucs going down to the Saints. There's upsets every single week.
Had to laugh at the Washington Football team blaming their kicker, what did they expect hiring a guy named Blewit.
Great recovery in the last few weeks Dennis. You're equal 2nd now, and just 3pts from the lead.
Not surprising seeing Green Bay beat Arizona. Do NOT tip against Aaron Rodgers. He is still by far the most clutch QB in the league.
If you're Cincy, how on earth do you blow a 31-20 lead against a 3rd string QB, not to mention allow him to throw for 400 yards in his debut game?!?! Cincy just blew their season right here. This loss will come back to haunt them for sure.
Will Tennessee ever win a game comfortably against a team not called Kansas? They are riding their luck this season.
Houston were losing 0-38 at 3QT before winning the 4th quarter 22-0 in garbage time.
Horrible loss at home for the overrated Browns. This game was my 50/50, but I went with Cleveland because when in doubt go for the home team. Good luck getting playoffs.
Poor Detroit. They've been competitive, but bizarrely conceded 44 points despite Hurts having a poor game. They may be 0-8, but they are not the worst team in the NFL.
Atlanta are going nowhere. You can't give up a 10-3 lead at home in a low-scoring game against a poor opponent.
Terrible loss for LA Chargers. Let a 14-7 home lead slip, and given the division they are in their playoff hopes are in trouble.
Beautiful result for the sport. Nice to see that Tampa Bay are human after all. Once again their glaring weakness is their defense. You can't give up 36 points to Trevor Siemian (despite the fact that I think he's underrated). New Orleans are unbelievably 5-2, including a 38-3 demolition of the 7-1 Packers and 36-27 win over the defending champions.
Can Minnesota also stop playing close games? I had no idea that Dak wasn't playing. Had I known I would've switched to Minnesota. That is an unforgivable loss. Playing at home against a 2nd/3rd stringer, and leading 10-3. You should not lose games like this.
Honestly a 11-26 loss away from home to Buffalo isn't such a bad result. The defense played well for 3 quarters (was 3-3 at HT and 3-10 at 3QT), but conceded 16pts in the last. Tua had a poor game unfortunately, and now the fans blaming him can say they are justified for a week. We are 1-7 and do not own our 1st round pick. What were we thinking when we traded up from 12th to 6th to draft a player in the same position we would've drafted at #12?
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
Tua actually didn't have a bad game. The Phins can't run and they can't block, makes it easy on a defense when you know a team is basically forced to throw between 5-10 yard routes all day long. His pick happened late because they were down two scores and running out of time, game was already over.
I also wish Miami still owned their 1st, but there was logic to having traded it instead of the 49ers 1st when they did. Miami had an easier schedule and one who have assumed they would finish with just as good of a record as the 49ers. Obviously that hasn't happened, but that was still the thinking behind it. Miami can still win 6-7 of their next 9, mind you, so it might still happen that way considering the 49ers division is stacked.
I actually don't regret trading up for Waddle. A handful of teams had him rated as the 2nd best player in the entire draft, and he wasn't going to fall past #6. If Miami hadn't traded up, the draft would've likely turned out like the following:
The rich get richer. Word is the Broncos are paying 90% of Miller's contract too, so no real cap hit to the Rams. Doing everything they can to get to the SB this year.
Derrick Henry breaking that bone is a huge hit for the Titans. Not so much as losing Mccaffery is to the Panthers, but still huge. I'm hearing best case is he misses 8 weeks and is back for the playoffs.
Part of me thinks the Titans will be fine since they still have Brown and Jones, but the other part thinks they are in deep trouble since the pass game won't be as easy now with the box not stacked play after play. Time to see if Tannehill has truly turned a corner.
Saints will probably be about the same without Winston. They are all about system at this point.
I'm not sure if the Rams getting Miller is huge. Obviously he helps, but he is starting to reach the cliffside. If he can help Donald get more one on one, then it will be a win for them. I would give them a B for the trade, though, as I don't like them only having a 5th and 7th Rounder next year. Broncos, conversely, are sitting pretty in the draft. They can either use the extra draft capital to trade up for a QB or for Rodgers if the Packers don't release him, or they can draft five starters from the Top 100 prospects. Either will be huge for them.
Broncos: 1-1st, 2-2nds, 2-3rds Giants: 2-1sts, 1-2nd, 2-3rds, 2-4ths Jets: 2-1sts (looking like both will be Top 12) Eagles: 3-1sts (looking like three 1sts that will all be Top 15) Lions: 2-1st (one likely 1st Overall)
These teams, at least those not named the Lions, could be vastly improve next year.
The Titans have signed Adrian Peterson, he could be a nightmare running behind that Tennessee offensive line. How much does he have left in the tank is a mystery at the moment.
Chiefs trade a 6th to the Steelers for Melvin Ingram.
My dad is a Chiefs fan, and I told him they could make three moves to bolster their super bowl odds. The first was Ingram, the second is Deshaun Jackson, and the third is Xavien Howard. Howard will likely cost at least one 1st since the Phins will have to pay his salary for them, but Jackson should be just as cheap as Ingram. All of those moves would help immensely.
I'm actually kind of upset with how Ingram requested a trade. He signed for the vet min to play a very specific role and then was upset with that when he realized he wasn't going to get a ton of playing time over Watt and Highsmith. Not a fan of players taking cheap contracts to force trades to their preferred teams.
Hearing some news that Buffalo may trade Trubisky to Washington.
