Kelley will probably be on the practice squad if he makes the team. I could see them trying to trade Heinecke and rolling with Howell as the backup. Teams don't always keep 3 active QBs on the roster these days,

Dennis: Howell slid because it was a weak QB Class. Just imagine if the Steelers did not go with Pickett. We could have legitimately seen a 1st without a QB. All have limitations and/or are raw. Odds are none of them pan out; we will be lucky if one of the Top 5 make it.

Next year could be nuts if all the QBs have good years. Stroud, Young, Rattler, Richardson, Uiagalelei. Probably will only be Stroud and Young in the end, but all have potential. We will see.

However, I have a DE as the best player next year: Will Anderson Jr. Dude is a freak. I also like Smith-Njigba out of Ohio State.

I've been looking into Howell and his stats last year were average at best, the year before they were great. Problem is all his key receivers like Dyami Brown entered the draft, and he had a useless offensive line so his stock plummeted. If you look at his stats two years ago they were almost as good as Trevor Lawrence's and Lawrence was being hailed as the messiah of football. I just have a feeling Wentz isn't going to make it through a complete season, he'll either get injured or benched by week 8.

I see everyone is raving about the linebacker Channing Tindall who Miami picked up in the third round of the draft.

Yeah, it was the Dolphins one good pick. lol

The rest of the Phins picks made no sense to me. I would have drafted Tindell in the 3rd, and then rolled the dice on Demone Clark out of LSU in the 4th. Clark won't play this year due to his recent surgery, but he is a 1st Round talent. If they had and all panned out, Baker, Tindell and Clark would've been a heck of a LB trio.

But it is what it is.

I actually forgot the Dolphins had any picks lol. I kinda stop following other teams past the second round.

Yeah, there is clearly a drop off in excitement after the 1st night. I watched through the 3rd Round, but that was really only because I wanted to see who the Phins went with. Day 3 was horrible this year because of so many reaches.

I know what you mean, after the 3rd pick I just think that the guys chosen will probably be cut or be practice players so I lose a bit of interest. The thing is though every player in the draft was a college superstar in some college somewhere in the US.

Washington have signed offensive guard Trai Turner from the Steelers, is he any good?

No, not really anymore. He started off great in Carolina but then had some injury issues and fell off a bit. Gave up 7 sacks last year, had 6 penalties. He's alright, but nothing special. By all accounts he's a good guy and teammate though.

Chiefs signed Justyn Ross as a UDFA. Dude was a consensus 1st Rounder before a spinal issue kept him out for the 2020 Season. If he can rebound now two years after the fact, the Chiefs would have a steal.

Always risky signing a hot prospect that gets injured, they are never the same. I can't think of one that came back 100% from their injury and ended up an impact player in the NFL.

Completely agree, but I think this guy is definitely worth it considering undrafted free agents make hardly anything. Plus, we all know the Chiefs could use all the help at WR after trading Hill.

A wide receiver with spinal issues seems like a very big risk, I personally wouldn't take the chance. I saw what happened to college superstar Bryce Love and former 49r 1st rounder Reuben Foster, I had high hopes both players would return from injury and become impact players for Washington, but they never fully recovered and were dropped. Waste of money, neither played a game.

He played last year, so I have to assume the issue is no more. Can't hurt to bring the guy in and see what he's got. Again, they aren't investing more than a couple 100k, which is basically nothing for an NFL team.

I guess you're right, who knows, they may be pleasantly surprised. Rocky Bleier the Steelers running back of the 70s got blown up during the Vietnam war and was told he would never walk again. A couple of years later the guy is playing in Super Bowls.

It's still a long shot, but the Chiefs have done it before with prospect that were medically flunk. Their 6th Round Pick last year played all 16 games for them at Guard following having blood clot issues a couple of year before then.

I'm hearing the Lions are interested in trading for Washington quarterback Taylor Hieneck as a backup to Goff.

I'm also hearing that Cole Kelly is going to be the surprise backup at quarterback and not Sam Howell who will probably be cut. The guy's too slow for the NFL, to begin with he runs a 5.3 40.

Howell will be the third stringer in Washington. Trust me. You do not draft him otherwise. Hiencke will remain as well.

I agree with you Warrior13, that seems the logical scenario except this Cole Kelley is making noise at training camp by getting everyone talking. The last time I heard buzz coming out of a Washington training camp it was when a wide receiver drafted in the third round who was looking like a decent find. That wide receiver was Terry McLaren. I guess we'll find out how good he is when the squad gets cut down to 53, if Heineke gets traded to Detroit you know what has happened.

Not sure why the Lions would give up anything for a backup QB. They've got Boyle who isn't good but he has some game experience. Not like the Lions are trying to compete this year anyway.

Even if Goff plays well, I cannot see them winning more than five or six games. Yeah, no point to trade for another QB.
